It turns out a lot of what people though was true was actually NOT supported by the evidence at trial.
Rittenhouse was not chasing anyone; it was the other way around.
The surviving guy Rittenhouse shot admitted on the witness stand, under oath, that he aimed a gun at Rittenhouse BEFORE Rittenhouse aimed at him.
If anyone is trying to knock you out by hitting you in the head (by kicks or a skateboard), or is trying to take your firearm from you, it is reasonable to believe that they will take your gun and shoot you. How do I know that? Because that is how police departments train their officers! Try to disarm a cop and their partner WILL shoot your ass. Hands down, no question.
And since it is apparently legal for people in Kenosha to be on the street with an AR-15, we can't say Rittenhouse was provoking people into attacking him just because he was carrying the rifle. Carrying the rifle is a lawful act there.
From a common sense standpoint, Rittenhouse was an immature dumbass who wanted to play hero with a gun. From a legal standpoint, I think the jury got it right.
However, the situation does create a few other questions...
Like what the hell were the cops thinking when they just let "militia guys" wander around with guns in a potentially dangerous, racially charged situation?
How does the NRA line about 'a good guy with a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun' actually play out in real life, where you often can't tell the good guy from the bad guy just by looking at them? Some of the people who attacked Rittenhouse say they thought he was an 'active shooter'. Look how that worked out.

It wasn't what the cops were thinking...it was the stupid ass decisions made by city mayors and governors who basically said "don't intervene because it will be a bad look'. That forced citizens to protect themselves and their property, because the mayors didn't have the balls to shut down the violent and property destruction 'protests'. This was created by the Kenosha mayor for not having the police enforce the law. If they didn't have the manpower, the National Guard for Wisconsin should have been called out, like they are NOW ready to deal with outbreaks from the jury decision.

It's about someone who was foolish and brought an AR-15 to a volatile event. If he didn't do this, none of this would have happened.
Yet, it appears that for each of the shootings, you cannot rule out self defense, and a not guilty verdict is appropriate.
But this verdict has nothing to do with Black Lives Matter or the shooting of Jacob Blake unless people unfortunately want to make it so.
And no, unlike the defense lawyer, I'm not glad anyone got killed. All of these events were tragic.

Think about how degenerate our society is when we take sides based solely on feelings, emotions, and party lines. We have people wanting to murder innocent people all because they are emotional over true justice being served. They are truly blinded by hatred for the common man. Today, justice was served not based on feelings and emotions; not based on politics, but rather based on facts and law. Yet, people are full of so much hatred because 'their team lost' that they are unable to think rationally. There is no hope for us.
We are judged at the town square of FB, Twitter, etc. based on main stream media lies. Society would be far better off if we looked out for the common man and not buy into propaganda.

The law does not apply in this case unless Kyle was carrying a short barreled rifle.
The prosecution tried to briefly get around it by claiming that the jury should be able to decide if it was a short barreled rifle or not which is of course simply lol trolling by them. Once they admitted that it was not a SBR then it was clear the law did not apply to Kyle and this situation.
There was no 'judicial activism' involved. The defense presented the law as written, proved the law does not apply to this situation, and asked for the charge to be dropped since it did not apply.
There is no pertinent Wisconsin law of carrying a firearm that Kyle broke. He was by law legally carrying the firearm that night.

Apparently, a minor walking down the street with a "hunting" rifle during social unrest gets confronted by other assholes doing the same thing but not as armored up as the teenager. Further to that, his father and grandmother live in Kenosha and he works there too. It is his community. Quite common on the east coast given state line proximity.

I'm surprised there haven't been more.
