I just watched the video of people stopping on the freeway to pickup the cash. Have to admit I'd do that too. I'm so glad HX is the source of great news stories... ๐ฐ๐๏ธ
Picking them up after the truck littered all over the freeway for safety's sake. Imagine, if later, a $100 bill flew onto someone's windshield! That would be unsafe!

Stupid phucks. Leave the money there. Showing off on social media with all that cash is beyond stupid. There certainly are cameras watching and CHP aircraft watching from high above.
I guess i'd have to weigh the risk vs reward. How much money would i have to pick up off the freeway to risk getting caught..? But then the bigger the amount the risks probably start multiplying because of the amount of time it takes. I'd say over 5 minutes you're going to caught one way or another. chasing single bills on an open freeway is idiotic. But bundles of cash may be a different story.
It sounds like most people here would take what they could. Which is disgusting. If you happened along a jewelry store with no one in it would you steal that shit too?
