I drive 17 miles to the office.

Multiple gas stations in the IE are charging this much. Even Costco is at $4.23.

The high gas prices have even hit Texas.
When I first got here gas was $1.25.
Now gas is $2.75 at Costco at regular gas stations it's $3.19.
During the lockdown it was $2.10.

What happened to supply and demand, isnt that how oil and gasoline priced.
Maybe some dummy thinks USA gas is run by the government. Private companies are the ones
controlling prices. Yes the gas here in california, cost more due to fees and taxes to build roads and help with emissions.. yay clean air.
Gasoline prices are up all over the world, not just in the United States, so maybe instead of talking politics we should be asking how much profits to you want to give oil companies and their share holders.

When pipelines are shut down and oil companies are told they cannot explore and drill, they see the writing on the wall....much lower production and thus the supply is less, demand is same, so price goes up....
It is the stupid government regulations that are reducing the supply.

I’m not so sure you have to be an economist to see how inflation is kicking our asses right now. With Binden wanting to increase the debt by trillions I can’t see how the dollar will stand strong in the near future.

Run up the debt by trillions and trillions, borrowing more and adding to the already huge debt service.
Reduce energy production so we are no longer an energy exporter, but now an importer begging OPEC to not screw us with their production and pricing.
Keep giving tax credits and stimulus money to people encouraging them NOT to work, so they are not paying taxes.
Putting extra burden on companies and individuals to be vaccinated or tested weekly (fortunately, courts may kick that idea to the cur .
Opening the borders, encouraging people who speak no English and possess little skills to come into our country and use the various social services and welfare programs.

supply isnt the same. during covid the oil producing companies cut back.. so supply went down.
the oil companies are slowly releasing more.
and demand isnt the same.. its up.. more people are driving now that people are working more..
eventually the prices will come down.. now if ur looking for prices of 30 years ago.. thats not happening

But then Sacramento says that we were not driving enough or bought a lot of electric cars that they didn’t take in that much in tax revenue, so they’re proposing another tax hike. Also, Isn’t that’s why, you guys are paying $400 a yet to register an old car?
There’s so many programs that intersect towards maintaining/building infrastructure but it’s all suck into the government red tape.
SANDAG is proposing a $0.04/mile tax to guess again, “improve” infrastructure. But I don’t know how to implement that. There’s goes our service rates going up and if your married another $1,200/yr in added taxes that you’re not gonna see again.

Regarding the debt, what about the debt run up during the Obama presidency. Over half of Trumps debt was Covid related and stimulus and support money that was actually needed as the economy was hit hard by the virus. We didn't have to worry about OPEC during Trump, since we were energy INDEPENDENT and didn't need OPEC oil to the extent we now need it. Trumps tax credits were 'crumbs' according to the Democrats, but the tax credits run up now are huge....
I don't dislike immigrants. I dislike ILLEGAL immigrants. I dislike opening our borders and letting anyone and everyone to flood in, knowing absolutely NOTHING about them. We used to have an 'immigration' policy where we actually knew who was coming into our country. They could do so LEGALLY. Learn English, learn about our country, our government and become citizens. That is how we did it for decades until now (and also open during Obama as well).
Regarding skills, I have my own business and am probably paying more taxes than you.

Last time there was a spike in gas prices like this was 2012 and it cost $3.64/gallon. Back then oil was selling for about $113 a barrel. Oil today is about $81/barrel. So what the fuck us up with that?
