My question is - What are you doing here if you're involved in church?

@taco. I am worried that a guest might start asking too many questions of someone I bring and my guest is made uncomfortable. The plan is to make someone feel welcome tonight, where normally they would be on their own.
I am sure not everyone here has friends/family that they can join or want to (a.k.a. Family issues).
my church/family get together has “+1 “ for those less fortunate, and this would be a big mixed Irish/Mexican/Iranian get together. Lots of booze and good food and variety of people.
Anywhoooo… I am thinking that someone here might appreciate a drama free Big Thanksgiving get together (I get “the drama”, not my +1). My condition was that the “faith” was practiced during the blessing of the meal only.

The practical side of me says (and so do the doctors), if they're not vaccinated, they need a rapid test.
Weigh your options depending on who may be vulnerable and also attending.

When I was in the Navy, I got to be a family's +1 for Thanksgiving one year. I'm not a big religious person, but they were. I bowed my head, held hands and said amen. But, that was the extent of the religion I was exposed to that day. Afterwards, we had dinner and an overall good time. It's still one of my fondest memories and I am grateful to that family for making my lonely holiday that much better. Not really telling you what to do, just giving perspective from the other side.

let it happen organically. You might just run across some stranger today, say hi, they might not have somewhere to go and invite them. I came across a couple that was involved with a sport I was into they where visiting from another country and knew nothing about thanksgiving, so I invited them
You will know them if you see them and say hi and start talking
For you they might be having 3 mask on telling you to keep your distance while wearing a shirt wtth Fauci, Gates and/or Cuomo dressed as a saint with an halo around their head
