I heard something to the effect
That they can't press If u don't respond to it
Find a ticket clinic
|
|
If you received the ticket in the mail. Dispose of it. Any one who asks about the ticket, You didn't get it in the mail it. They, as in, the city can't prove you received the citation.
|
|
I’ve also heard if you bring it to court you have to face your accuser, and a robot can’t be an accuser.
|
|
If that robot has a face pic of you(guessing it does)? You may fighting a losing battle. Traffic school?
|

Culver City reviews their own traffic light cameras. They do not subcontract that with an out of state company like The City of LA use to do.
If the car license plate matches with registered owner’s picture on the driver’s license with the picture taken by the traffic camera, it will be a tough battle.
Good luck.

Down in San Diego we gotta guy called “Mr.Ticket”.
Pay $50 he fights it, gets it off your record. Have used him twice so far. I’m sure there is an equivalent to him up in your area..just look around

don't listen to the people who say ignore the citation and it will go away.
saying you didn't get it in the mail is the most common excuse used in court and it never works. you will just end up with a hold placed on your license.
if you go to trial most cities that use red light cameras have a person go to court with photos (of the license plates and driver), video, and a copy of the dmv record the car is registered to.
the court will get a copy of the photos at arraignment.
only way to get out of it is if the photo of the driver is unidentifiable or if vehicle isn't yours and the registered owner goes to court and says they don't know who the driver is.

Whatever you do, do NOT go to their website to "view video of the offense." One you do that, they know and have proof that you have received the ticket.
Just simply throw it away. DO NOT CALL them. DO NOT EMAIL them. DO nothing. Do not contact them in any way. I have received multiple red light camera tickets over the last few years. I ignored them. No license, insurance or car registration problems at all for me.
I did try to fight one and went to court. Went to Inglewood before a judge. A cop was there to represent the red light camera company.
If you do go to court, they will give you an opportunity to cut and run - plead guilty for a lessor fine. If you chose to continue and lose, you pay full fine. I lost the case and had to pay the full ticket, plus court cost. Almost $500 (in 2016)
My tickets were all from Los Angeles and not Culver City. Hope this helps.

^^^^
This is correct. I got one of these in 2011, repeatedly was mailed reminders that were more financially threating. Show up to traffic court and they had 2 dudes whos whole job was to present you with a laptop with a video and pictures of your car and whoever is driving it.
My face was clearly visible along with the license plate.
|
|
I was referring to @NacNacBoy.
My citation was in Westminster in Orange County.
That same intersection has since removed the red light camera.
|
|
well good information i guess - except there is completely contradictory...
1. ignore the ticket completely and it will go away.
2. do not ignore it
3. use a ticket service
in the mail i received there is clear evidence that it is my face and my registered car.
the strange thing is i do not recall running a red light, its something i actually rarely do if ever..
damn i am tempted to go online and view the video...

They got good weapons
Only way to fight is with bigger weapons
Recommend you throw a smoke and a frag grenade in first
Then Rambo them with a belt fed mini gun
If you have a gas mask
Finish them off with ricin as you leave the building
Hope that helps

Use one of those fixit ticket lawyers... a friend of mine said he gets a ticket every 2-3 years and Mr. FIXIT always gets it fixed and it never goes on his record.
|
|
send the ticket back with an Uno reverse card. They will PAY you!
|
|
1. ignore the ticket completely and it will go away.
and it did...
i never even click on the video or called the number, just tossed the ticket.
|
|
Visit lawyers are bs.
If they lose, the next one is free...
F that: not supposed to lose in the first place, so I'm never using ticket clinic again.
Their biz model is to lose, and ignore repeats.

They were unenforceable at one time. The fine payment wasn’t even going to the city or something to that effect.
Many years ago, I got one and never paid it. They eventually stopped sending notices and my license has had no issues.

Throw it in the trash. That's what I did.

I have first hand knowledge and experience with this specific issue. I've been involved with 3 such issues, one of which was as recent as October of last year. I didn't have to pay or appear and best yet, when I went into the DMV to get my REAL ID, the clerk said that "there was an indication that I had a moving infraction pending" (Rolling R Turn at a Red Light).
I replied: "I'm not sure what you're referring to, I HAVENT BEEN STOPPED BY ANY SHERIFF, POLICE OFFICER, OR HIGHWAY PATROLMAN for any moving violation. The last time that happened I was in High School back when Dinosaurs were walking the earth."
(All True Statements of Fact)
If the Camera Ticket was issued in LOS ANGELES COUNTY and ONLY in Los Angeles County, steps can be taken (or NOT taken actually) to ensure that:
1- You are NOT liable for any fees associated with the Alleged infraction.
2- Your driving record is Not affected by the ATTEMPT to prosecute you for the ALLEGED incident.
The legal key to all of the above is that the systems do not belong to, nor are they operated by Los Angeles County. They are owned and operated by a civilian 3rd party and the lack any corroborating testimony that you were advised of what infraction of the law you ALLEGEDLY committed . It's the main reason why you're asked to sign the ticket when given one by a peace officer. The states very clearly that signing is not an admission of guilt. only that you've been MADE AWARE of what you are being accused of.
If you so much as even click on the link to the Camera Pic or Video. You have now provided proof of being made aware that you have potentially broken the law. SO DON'T DO IT no matter how curious you are.
Like most things that sound TGTBT, there are a few more things that you must be prepared for that WILL come up in the future.
1- Be prepared to be asked that question when it comes time to renew your Drivers License.
2- You should also be aware that should you get pulled over for an entirely different reason there's a really good chance that the Peace officer will see the pending infraction when he/she looks up your record. If and when they advise you of the pending infraction, YOU'VE NOW BEEN LEGALLY ADVISED.
3- Just like most situations that need to be addressed but limited funds and resources preclude the timely attention to those pending matters, those situations once accumulated are turned over to a Collection Agency. YOU WILL receive Notice of the issue which very vaguely conveys the need to take care of the outstanding infraction from a Law Firm. DO NOT REPLY OR ACKNOWLEDGE the correspondence.
They can only collect on something you ACKNOWLEDGE you are being accused of.
Going to Court to prosecute an alleged crime of any sort, involves a significant expense on the part of the County. A Judge, Prosecuting Attorney, Court Clerks etc, all have to be paid. And even if they prevail, the maximum amount money they can recoup in the form of a fine or penalty doesn't begin to cover any of the expense in recovering such and you doing time in jail in lieu of paying a monetary fine costs the county even more in Bologna Sandwiches.
LA County has decided to let the few people smart enough to navigate the Legal land mine field a pass. They will make plenty of money on all the other poor saps that they catch in their nets.
For any other unfortunate people that have received Camera Tickets in any other Counties in California, Sorry you're shit out of luck.

Send a pm to @AFMadness and see what they advise.
Then do the opposite.

Some of these are amusing.
Storm is right, if you are pulled over for any reason (not wearing a seat belt, no front tag, tinted windows), the officer WILL see that in their system.
Let's switch it around a bit.
Can you ignore a speeding ticket issued by a "real" cop?
I bet all those saying ignore it - would NOT recommend ignoring a "real" ticket.
What's the difference - being sent by USPS and a remote camera??
Do you think the courts/ PD care about the difference?
No, they do not. They expect the revenue.
Grow a set of balls and pay it, or do traffic school.
In my younger days, I used to get speeding tickets like clockwork every 18 months when I was next eligible to take traffic school & get the ticket "erased".
Why is this even a question. If you ran the red light, take care of it.
Seems simple to me.

1-800-NOCUFFS.

if it is signed by a peace officer you are fucked

“ If you received the ticket in the mail. Dispose of it. Any one who asks about the ticket, You didn't get it in the mail it. They, as in, the city can't prove you received the citation.”
I believe @longwalker is right. Whenever I receive a jury duty notice, I automatically throw it away. They can’t prove that I received it. Same thing with these tickets. They can’t prove you received it. And they don’t know with absolute certainty who was driving your car.

LA has gotten rid of (Stopped using) almost all of the intersection cameras. Because they decided/realized that they were not enforceable. Especially, since the citations were coming from a company in Rhode Island. People stopped paying them, deeming them useless.
