Home owners don't tell you about all the bullshit that comes with home ownership. You use a large portion of your savings for a down payment, have initial large mortgage payments, have taxes on top of taxes, insurance, oh and the maintenance is your responsibility (roof, windows, pipes, foundation, flooring, landscape, etc.). It's good for generational wealth though (you can leave the property to children, spouse, relatives, etc.). And in ten years that initial large mortgage payment will seem like a little.
If you can afford a nice rental, I say do that instead. You can save your money and bail after the lease is up if you don't like it.

My comment was intended to be sarcastic. I love the Inland Empire. It's a hidden gem. There's a lot to do out here people don't realize. And a lot of high profile people actually live out here. But yes, the IE is not as popular as LA or Orange county areas.

There are very few good spots by the metro rail lines, Redondo, El Segundo, Downey, LBC, DTLA, Hollywood (iffy), Studio City, West LA, Santa Monica, and San Gabriel. And some spots don't have nice newer Apartments.
