You took her comment way too personal . A lot of men don't know how many ass holes us ladies deal with. From fake pages to guys that feel like you're their property because they are spending time with you.. not to mention the stalkers and guys who like to use their levels as leverage.. oh and did you hear about the constant reports of men pretending to be someone else to see ladies?
Yes there are a few good guys but you have to weed through the sea of snakes to find them.
If her comment doesn't apply to you then move along.
And dude you're 51, she's 27.. I would expect someone your age to have their shit together

The old rule of "You can choose to be offended or not but it is a choice" applies here...and pretty much everything.
(I need to follow my own advice sometimes)
I know I'm kissing June's ass (which is rather fine...) but she is right.
If I have to disagree with Heather the only point is avoid burning bridges even if it feels oh so good to do so. Just my life experience.
All in all hey she came in with a goal and left with that goal and that is pretty awesome. I wish her well and success.

June, you make a good point. I don't know what it's like from the ladies' point of view. As a member of the community since 2009, I just don't like when someone generalizes that nearly all hx guys are bad. I'm sure there are bad apples just like there are bad apple women. But in my experience, most of the women and men on hx are good, hardworking people.
Actually, I am glad for Heather. If she wants to leave hx, she should. I hope she will remember the positive experiences. And I hope she will begin her new job with a positive outlook.
So even though we never met or exchanged pms, Heather, thanks for being part of hx, congratulations on your achievements, and best of luck in your new career.

You’re a good example of someone who should be criticized. Women on HX serve a need in society for companionship. You should value them for the service they provide, not criticize them for giving you what you seek. And you certainly shouldn’t be critical of someone who has used the site as a springboard to meet their ultimate goals.

Good for you .. lets hope you are not another in a long long .. did i mention Looooong list of ladies who blew up the bridge on the way out of town. Only to slink back 6 months later. One thing that some forget is .. the attention, even if negative ... is addicting. You go from a person who people are texting and messaging each day because they want you .. to just another girl in the workforce looking for a "real" date. Can be a difficult adjustment.

@gentlemen: I think you have the wrong handle, but maybe you're in the bad 10% . In fact, I'm not special. Many if not most hx guys are educated, highly achieving individuals with a successful non-hx life. I don't like the fact that women like Heather demean us by saying we are living in our parent's basement. This is not the first time, btw. A few weeks back she chimed in on a "I hate hx guys blog" big time started by a woman who deleted her handle only to return a week later.
@lucky: why is it okay for a woman to mention her achievements but not a man? Maybe it's part of the woke world we live in.

Seems as though this is on you. From her original blog, she was generalizing and you took it personal. Creating another blog to to whine is probably one on her reasons to generalize in the first place.
Maybe you could have been secure enough in the beginning to know she wasn't singling you out. But maybe, just maybe. You are one of those who shes glad not to be dealing with again? Take some time to self reflect

I think hx is great and it has enriched my life tremendously for over a decade. The women have been terrific. I like the blogs (gasp!). I interact with people on hx I would never have the opportunity to in real life.
I don't like it when someone says all (or almost all) hx guys are bad and this time I decided to call them out.
It is better for ladies and gentlemen to call out specific bad actors rather than make blanket statements without evidence. Imo, hx has very good mechanisms to identify and sometimes boot out bad actors.
I am thankful for what I have, including hx.

And fiw, I regret posting info about my education, etc. Definitely tmi. I actually asked that this blog be deleted for that reason. I didn't mean to boast. But Heather seemed to imply that I and other hx guys are low-life non-achievers living in mom's basement whereas I believe most of us have full, "successful" lives.
