Not in my opinion.
She made reasonable inquiries about whether the Prez (any Prez) could really start a suicidal nuclear war all on his own.
The answer she got was, "No, it really doesn't work that way. We won't let any President go off the deep end and and just decide to nuke Iran, for instance, simply because he's drunk or pissed off one day."
She just asked questions.
Personally, I think she already knew the answer to her question. I believe she just wanted to be able to reassure the public by being able to say, "I did ask about that. It's okay, don't worry."
A lot of people got very worried after the coup attempt at the Capitol and needed reassuring.

Kaiser, you’re absolutely correct, Nancy usurped a sitting and duly elected Presidents authority by going directly to the Military to interfere with powers granted solely to the President. I’d say that fits the definition of a attempted coup.

She's 3rd in line of succession. If trump and pence try to seize power illegally im sure nancy would like to know where the military stands. With the commander in chief or with the people.? Its better to know early rather than later.

Both Dems and Republican leaders did the same outreach as Pelosi did in Nixon's last days when he was mostly drunk and catatonic. Secy of Defense James Schlesinger assured them that he had the final say regarding the use of nuclear weapons. I never heard anyone complain about that position. So, if Pelosi approached the JCS and asked if the Schlesinger rule applied how is that usurpation of power? It might be a usurpation by the Secy of Defense of the Chiefs but not by Pelosi.

FWIW, the order was:
"If the President gave any order to launch nuclear weapons, military commanders should check with either him (Schlesinger) or Kissinger before any execution"
The perfect example of usurpation of Presidential power. Never heard one complaint ever!
