The problem is that they don't have any viable competition. Also, if anyone even tries like Gab or Parler did, they get deplatformed. Big Tech is in a position where they can behave badly while simultaneously stifling any opposition. Someone is going to have to figure out how to make something that's both decentralized and popular. Getting popular is the far more difficult part in a lot of ways.

But when these big boys start to see users depart, advertisers are then unwilling to pay the same money since users drop. It won't take long for investors to get antsy and put pressure to bear.

I highly doubt twitter and facebook gives a fuck about that shit going down.
Thats what stocks do, go up and down
Just like bitches on your dick
Next month it will be back up, if not who cares
People still gonna use it no matter what, not like they gonna go broke smh
This is an opening for Trump Enterprises to step in and give these ass holes some competition.
Why so it can go bankrupt like his other businesses ??
We'll see what happens over the next few months.
Most people don’t realize Twitter almost went bankrupt before Trump was elected. His rants saved their company. They’ll beg him to return when this is all over and he’ll tell them to fuck themselves putting a nail in their self imposed coffin.
I use Twitter daily to communicate with scientists. I'm sure it will be just fine without Donald Trump.
No legal action is being taken against Twitter.
They will be fine.
@jazzy. Trump enterprises owns over 500 different corp.
Even Trump doesn't win them all.
As with everything the one that dose the most will win the most, and some times fail.
My god, let's hope no one posts Donald's booty pic--there is not enough server space for that lard ass!
Why do these right wing nuts think they are so much more important than they are?
These are the same dudes who were saying they would boycott the NFL--to teach them a lesson about being sympathetic to player activism and BLM, and eliminating racist native nicknames, etc.. It taught them a lesson alright--that pissing off the right wing nuts is good business! (Actually I think the NFL didn't notice)
Yes Twitter and FB were watching the NFL to see how it went.
And they are popping champagne corks in the Twitter offices today:
1. Twitter got loads of free advertising, hugely valuable
2. They scored culture points with their core users who know T&*#@ is dangerous and hate him, priceless
3. They avoided huge potential liability for distributing messages advocating sedition and violence
4. They upped the ante to their competition and looked like a leader
Kudos to them for finally drawing the line regardless of stock price hit. Thanks for the post.

I dont get the anger here.
No shirt No shoes no service.
Every store across the country has this rule.
Twitter effectively said to Trump you got no shoes and no shirt thus you can get out.
Its exactly the same rules.
No civil rights broken. The onty thing broken is some ego as he got told no.

All I see is Twitter stock is on sale. buy, Buy, BUY
Some market analysts are saying that Twitter, which lost 2.5 billion dollars in valuation after they banned Trump, may ultimately benefit from that action. One analyst I was reading today suggested that Trump is now radioactive with advertisers, and that Twitter may garner significant gains from it's deletion of Trump.
Time will tell. Personally I don't think it's a buy even at under $49.

So guys are here for Trump. Some guys are here for Biden.
Seriously though that's weird. Jazzy and Fiji walk in and some guys are still talking about politics. I must have gone through some weird alternate reality. Is this the twilight zone?

Trump Enterprises.
Savior of social media.
Perhaps the dumb kid will run it.
Like trump. His followers will love you until trump says not to. One day you're part of the movement. The next day you have a noose with your name on it. Let's face some facts. To be a trump follower you have to be as dysfunctional as trump. Their self images are so damaged they're willing to turn over free will, decision making and all their money to trump. They feel empowered and righteous when they exclude non-believers (non-white people) Trump followers love it when trump sends them to sacrifice themselves for trump. One day trump will demand the ultimate sacrifice. He always does. Patriot or traitor.?

Twitter is a dumpster fire and always has been.
The blue check mob are mouth breathing morons in most cases.
Fuck em.
Gotta love the hypocrisy of Twitter calling for an open internet after the Ugandan government blocked social media during their elections.
After the shit that went down this week because of them, they cry for an open internet. Cant make this shit up.

+1 Jazzy

All these fuckers are going down and rightfully so.
Google, Facebook, Twitter, et al are essentially state actors under existing legal doctrines. The conventional wisdom that they are free to regulate content because they're private and the First Amendment only protects against government censorship doesn't apply in this case. Using a combination of statutory inducements and regulatory threats, Congress has co-opted Silicon Valley through the back door what the government cannot directly accomplish under the Constitution.
SCOTUS held in 1973, Norwood v Harrison that the government may not induce, encourage or promote private persons to accomplish what it is constitutionally forbidden to accomplish.......and that's a quote.
But, that is exactly what Congress did by enacting Section 230, which permits tech companies to censor constitutionally protected speech AND immunizes them from liability if they do so. SCOTUS has long held that the provision of immunity CAN turn private action into state action.
Dems have repeatedly made explicit threats to social-media giants if they failed to censor speech those lawmakers found objectionable. Rep Cedric Richmond warned Facebook and Google that they had "better" restrict what he and his colleagues saw as harmful content or face regulation. Rep Nadler added to his threats when he said "Let's see what happens by just pressuring them".
By effectively shutting down a third rate app called Parler, big tech effectively did their bidding and are now caught between a rock and a hard place. Face the wrath of the ruling party or that of SCOTUS........
These fucking billionaires are scum-sucking assholes and for the first time ever, i would get behind a 100% tax on all wealth of these assholes, take it and put it in the treasury to be squandered at a later date by some other asshole politicians!

I get that none of you fucks get it the issues here
But, cause you're butt hurt about Donny J
You're willing to give up your freedoms
Who gives a fuck what the fat orange buffoon says on Twitter
Seriously, who's next?
What happens when they come for you?
Dumb fucks on the right and left will be the end of us all
And, we'll deserve it for not doing more to protect what those stupid faggy old white guys left behind for us
Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.
If a politician found he had cannibals among his constituents, he would promise them missionaries for dinner.
saved the best for last:
As democracy is perfected, the office of the president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
Pick your moron, Trump or Biden

A representative democracy isn't supposed to reflect the average views of the people, it reflects the views of a person they elected to reflect the best of them. The framers specifically avoided direct democracy and the rule of the mob. The principal is certainly under stress right now and with greater urbanization etc. will get worse but so far as ‘Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…’

Too late, lol
We already made the transition from "representative" democracy to "participatory" democracy
That's where you have a riot but just call it democracy in action
Then it's OK to burn a Federal courthouse, trash a downtown and kill a few
Then it becomes OK to tour the Capitol building after hours without a ticket too, lol
Fuckers don't have any idea where to draw a line
Where do you?
Yeah, it looks like the only option left for you cry babies is an open revolt. You cant lie to
get what you want anymore. You have to convince the rest of us you know what youre typing about.
Just because traditionally you've held power with the color of your skin dose not mean the rest of us must allow you to act like nothing has changed. EVERYTHING has changed. You trumpers
think your speech must be taken more seriously, be louder, more influential. Everything you fuckers type is self righteous, condescending and mostly racist bullshit to keep your traditional power.
You fuckers are so desperate to keep others from power. The only fucking solution for you traitors is violence.? Not democracy, or debate. You fuckers only know subjugation. You assholes walking through the capitol with all your entitlement and lack of respect.
Yeah Granite.
Being consumed by hatred is definitely a bad thing. Next thing you know you're taking a dump in the capitol building and screaming for Mike Pence's blood, And getting added to the no fly list. Wouldn't wish that shit on anyone.

Its all a big waste of time. The con man conned a big chunk of stupid in our country. People have allowed this big fat liar to repeat his bullshit until everyone just assumed he must be telling the truth. EVERYONE knows trump lies. Most you fucking idiots STILL believe Hillary is a lesbo pedophile abusing children in the basement of a pizzeria. Now, trump is the thing that wont go away. His words drove idiots worse than you morons to try and keep biden from WINNING the 2020 election. Trump has rounded up all the whackos and has his private dysfunctional band of dangerous idiots. Now tell me how trump is the best Republican president ever. The creepiest thing was his crowds chanting...
"We love you...We love you... We love you." And Trump basking in the love looking like Mussolini
twitter had a little restructure going on the past year...active investment group wanted to get dorsey out of running it...another group came to the rescue...they settled on a few board seats
@BallsGoDeep
You are retarded. Section 230 has nothing to do with constitutionally protected speech. Wanna know why? No private corporation has to follow the 1st amendment. It only restricts government censorship of speech, not private corporations.
What is it you retardicans say? If you don't like it, take your money elsewhere.

OMG!! Twitter may go out of business!
What will America do?????
Maybe, get the fuck back to work and stop looking at Twitter.
Break time is fucking over.
Exactly. I wouldn't give two shits if all social media platforms died in a fire. They're nothing but places to spread stupid.
@nKnow +1 .... and it's permeating.
Ah, the Trumptard butt hurt is glorious to see.
Awww, poor babies got caught in their lies and have been booted off?
Trumptards sound like the person in the relationship who has been dumped but too stupid to know why.
Boo
Hoo
Y’all earned the kick in the ass and the kick to the curb.
Bye!
The world is moving on without you.
As for anti-trust, good luck with that.
“ Parler's lawyers building their case on the assertion that Twitter and Amazon are acting as a cartel. That's not possible, as Twitter and Amazon are not competitors in the antitrust sense. They operate in separate relevant markets. Any agreement between them would thus amount, at worst, to a vertical restraint of trade, rather than a cartel.
The distinction is important because cartels are inherently illegal. Vertical restraints are not. Antitrust liability is much harder to establish in vertical restraint cases, which rely on the so-called "rule of reason." That's another way to say that courts will consider such claims on their merits.
In general, firms are free to choose their trading partners and, barring exceptional circumstances, are allowed to enter into exclusive agreements. Twitter is free to convince Amazon to stop dealing with other firms, so long as this does not foreclose those rivals from the market and harm consumers in the process.
Parler offers no evidence of an anticompetitive agreement between Twitter and Amazon, nor of any ensuing consumer harm that would affect all or most social-media users, as opposed to the minority who happen to prefer Parler's service. Parler's argument that such harm exists is further weakened by the apparent ease with which the company found an alternative host.”

I hope every one of the social media platforms go belly up. They are the enemy of the USA!
Twitter's stock is down another 2% currently on the market today.
When values drop more than 15%, Boards of Directors start to get nervous.
And Facebook is down 8%.....wait until Parler is up and running again..
More defectors from Twitter and Facebook, lower stock prices.
Take the Tech Giants down. WE are the consumers and WE decide.
Twitter stock right now is down 3% of value for the day, over 16% of the value since banning Trump.
Very smart business move......Dorsey better be looking over his shoulder....he might be shown the door by his investors.
Once Biden is sworn in expect to see that turn around.
I hope the bloodletting continues until they go bankrupt…
I doubt it. Dorsey basically pissed off 74 million people. Not the smartest business move....
Fall asshole fall!!!!!!!
