If you quantify someone as rich then you are not seeing them through the lens of friendship. Usually people have friends (not people online) that are typically of the same economic parity or its not something that is discussed.
That being said I have no disloyal friends. I have friends. Economics are not considered.

She never said the loyal friend was poor, just not rich. Yeah some poor people are desperate and can't be trusted but some rich people are greedy and can't be trusted. A person that can't be trusted isn't loyal.

I agree Lamar; I was attempting to be succinct so that it didn't appear as a TL R. Clearly I needed to be less obtuse and more specific.
I did poke around and there's a whole discussion by what is loyalty in terms on friendship. Loyalty provides security in your tribe so you can focus more on external threats. Dang, humans haven't changed at all.

I have both. They are all good peeps, or I wouldn't call them Friends.

Friends should all be loyal (rich or poor), if not I would only consider them an acquaintance.

I find that people use the words friend too freely. If you have 5 true friends you are lucky. To me a friend is someone who will drop what they are doing to assist you, asking questions later.
I use alternate categories, clients, acquintances (sp?) then friends and family.
I think I might have 5 if I think really hard but I've got nearly 500 clients that I am close to, hope they all come to my memorial when it's time, it'll be a big party but I know I would not put them in "friend" category, though they may think otherwise.
To answer, loyalty.

I think loyalty tops them all...I have had some people who claimed the former but were not...one has to be very careful.

Loyal friends. I have a few I trust with my life. And they have always been there for me. Weather they always agree with me or not.
