That is a pretty fast development, and the most welcome news to hear.
No thanks.
I know at least 8 people, including family members, who have taken the vaccine (some both 1st and 2nd shots) and have felt no adverse side effects at all.
So you can either take your chances with having a potentially catastrophic response to Covid (death or permanent neurological and respiratory damage), or you can take the vaccine and deal with the “alleged” side effects. The choice is clear to me.

The reported survival rate from Covid-19 is over 98%.
There are effective treatments, so why take the risk?
A personal decision to be made by all of us. Do your own research.
Correct^ & ^^
@sunsetbob what is the effective treatment for people who get COVID19? why are 4k or more people dying every day right now if there is an effective treatment?
The "No thanks" people remind me of the guys who wouldn't wear a seatbelt because they didn't want to be trapped in a burning vehicle after a wreck.
The last leg of distribution wasn't dialed in very well by the task force, but they're getting their act together now in order to " Mass Vaccinate " the population...
Super POD's - Points of Dispensing
Are being set up at :
Dodger Stadium
Long Beach Convention Center
Disneyland
Inland Empire - to be determined - Fontana Speedway or the Toyota Arena would be my best guesses...
Everyone has their own opinion... I advocate very highly to get yourself vaccinated. I believe the science, I believe in Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson from first hand dealings with both companies. They're both very solid and rest assured that you are in good hands...

@ “There are effective treatments, so why take the risk?”
The virus is not going away; it’s here 12 months out of the year; you can get infected again and do you think the treatment (being on a ventilator, remdesivir,, steroids) is less risky than the vaccine?
How about your loved ones?
At this time, the vaccination is the only way to get the prevalence of infection of Covid 19 down to decrease the burden in the healthcare system, the economy and in all our lives. If enough of us don’t take the vaccine, it won’t be very effective. I don’t how long it will take for this virus to go away, if it ever does, without the vaccine decreasing its infection rate.

If you guys want to know how the vaccine feels like then feel free to ask me. I already took my second dose this week and didn’t feel much (despite them telling me that the second dose is stronger). However on the first dose I felt like shit. I felt like I had a small fever at night on the first day (with a really sore arm) and felt nauseous on the first half of the day on the second day. Thereafter I felt like nothing ever happened. My only recommendation to everyone is to eat really well (because I did get very hungry after the shot), drink a lot of fluids, and sleep very well if you plan on taking the doses. If you take moderna then you have to wait 4 weeks for your second dose and if you take Pfizer then you have to wait 3 weeks for your second dose. If your scared of shots, don’t worry about it. You literally feel nothing and it is the most painless shot I have ever take. Anyways, I hope this information is very helpful for those planning on taking the vaccine.

Interesting fact, I got several more random boners on my very first day. I doubt that is a side effect but I found it very interesting how each body reacts differently.
One misconception I had on the very first day is that I thought they injected me with COVID or something. I literally thought that because I felt like shit. After looking back and talking to several other doctors this is just normal. It’s a way to say that your body is doing it’s job by reacting to the vaccine
Also some people’s bodies don’t respond very well within the first 12 minutes. What they made us do and what they are making others do is to wait at least 15 minutes after taking the shot to rest assure you are going to be okay. There is staff waiting for you just in case your body does something not right within those few minutes. Most colleagues agree that the vaccine overall wasn’t that bad. The healthcare workers are there for you just in case of any dangerous body responses . You are in good hands in my opinion
I received my first dose with no side-effects so far except mild soreness at the injection site.
For me, it was a no brainer. I'm tired of fearing for my life every time I go into a Costco. Reminds of when I lived on the wrong side of town and always lived in fear.
2% risk of death from covid is a high # imo, especially as cases mount. There is a risk of death calculator on line that will estimate your risk based on age, sex, pre-existing conditions, etc. That might be helpful to some in making a decision.
But it's not just death. The morbidity is really high for many survivors; their lives will never be the same, requiring oxygen, etc.

^Complete misinformation
it would be nice if their website was worth a shit, but waiting over 15 minutes to download, and still not proceeding doesn't work for me
I wish to be at the front of the line for my vaccination.
Antivaxxers? Who cares what happens to them.

Appointments for this week appear to be taken, but if you created a profile, they should send you an email when appointments become available.
I don’t think they opened appointments for next week yet. Once they do, try to schedule an appointment quickly.
@kip_dynamite - super misleading statement there. The virus fucks with your body in ways that your actual cause of death is via one of those “other reasons”. It’s akin to like when someone has AIDS. People don’t die cuz of AIDS itself, but your body is so fucked that it can’t fight off a common cold or something really basic.
@sunset - I feel like there’s basic math problem there. Vaccine has shown 100% chance of preventing a severe infection, versus 2% chance of death? And not counting the chance that you have long term effects like folks who can’t walk around the block without getting fatigued, or still can’t taste / smell? It’s also a misnomer to say there’s an effective treatment out there. Look at the statistics. Yes, regeneron helps and is out there.. but there’s barely any access to it so unless you know of a hook up or the right place to go... good luck
Let the anti vaccinators take their chances and STF up about about their self righteousness.
Time will tell on some of the unlucky ones. A lot of dying people are recorded on video saying
I only wish I had listened. Just watch them on the news reports. Good luck to all.

"You're all sheep!" he yells as he drives against the flow of traffic on the freeway.
Doesn't files taxes because that's what sheep do
Doesn't stand in line at grocery stores because that's what sheep do
Has a negative rating on HX because sheep have positive ratings
Walks into a construction site without safety gear because only sheep wear helmets and eye protection.
I need a t-shirt with a sheep holding a rifle that says "Bah motherf***ers!"
I'm a mean fuckin' sheep tired of morons thinking logic and reason is a conspiracy.

Kip
What are you talking about. Why would polititians want to inflate covid deaths?
The election is fucking over. Trump said it would disappear on Nov 4th...not so much.
There are wonderful treatments....not for your tax bracket.
Good luck. Darwinism ar its best.
Do you guys think Chuck Norris needs the vaccine or does covid need a vaccine for Chuck Norris?
hey kip please tell the four friends of mine that died from covid thats its all a B.S I have a lot of friends that caught it and went though in a week, others not so much you just don't know how you will react to it.

I took two elderly relatives today to get the vaccine at the Disneyland location (I will take it when it’s open to me).
It took about an 1.5 hours to get the shots.
The shots are essentially painless. They didn’t even feel the needle.
So far, they felt absolutely no side effects. They’re very happy and feel fortunate to be one of the first to receive their first vaccine shot.
Convincing the conservatives to let the democrats go first for the COVID vaccine and the request for $2,000 additional checks are the best thing I can say about Trump!

"super-vaccination sites" =super-spreader events. Why don't they just use normal channels like pharmacies (like other states)? Why does California always have to make things unnecessarily complicated and bureaucratic?
^
This is being administered by medical professionals (and what appeared to be the military).
>Yes, there were hundreds of people at the Disneyland location today.
> Everyone was spread out in a large parking lot.
> Everyone was at least 6' apart with mandatory masks. And it was all outdoors and in large tents with the sides open to allow for airflow.
>They methodically organized people and fed them through to the area where the vaccine was administered.
>It was extremely safe.
Glad to hear that. Where I received it had a super-spreader type feel. I know people who tried to register and the website was down. I still don't understand why they don't use normal channels for giving vaccinations like pharmacies and doctors' offices. They've been doing it for years. And last I checked, California was at the bottom of percentage of vaccines distributed, right behind American Samoa.
All that fucking Othena site has let me do so far is register
But, can't get an appt.
Typical fucking Cali fuckup
Recall Newsome
They will expand to pharmacies and doctor offices when they are able to accommodate the extremely low temperatures needed to store this particular vaccine.
The Othena website and app suck, but they are being slammed with people wanting to schedule their shots. When I got the two appointments Tuesday night, they were only scheduling appointments until this Friday. They already added days but the appointments go fast. People are checking the site repeatedly throughout the day until they get an appointment.
Vaccine availability will increase soon.
Thank you mildamusing1 for this really important info!
I just heard that there is website that helps people in California find a local vaccination center by entering your zip code, including many supermarket pharmacies.
vaccinateca.com
Yes, Othena takes your registration, and for most people, you will be told you are in the 'waiting room'......crickets...LOL.
Othena will eventually allow you to schedule an appointment if you repeatedly sign into the app.
I know at last 9 people in Orange County (including two elderly relatives) who have scheduled an appointment to take the vaccine through the Othena app/website and they all had to repeatedly sign into the app until it allowed them to schedule.
The Government announced today it is going to purchase 200 million doses of both Phizer and Moderna. Need a better infrastructure to get those doses in peoples arms. A big step forward however.
Mildly... that was their previous method. Their website bogged down and almost crashed. Now they take your registration and put you in limbo.
The Othena app/site does suck, but at least this website (vaccinateca.com) will help direct people to pharmacies and other locations that may be easier to schedule an appointment.
@jazz51
That is unfortunate. Maybe the website I just posted will help direct people to more locations.
othena was a real pain, I did get thru after about 30 minutes last friday, and got an appt last saturday
at least UCI had it together, in and out in 15 minutes. they're doing a thousand vaccines a day there
VaccinateCA may help somebody but it wont be in OC.
It only lists Disneyland, then tells you to wait on the Athena site to contact you.
How about the Canadian movie mogul who flew his private jet to the Yukon then posed as an indigenous person to get the vaccine, lol
He and his bitch wife got caught.

I had my first dose, but not my second yet. The arm was sore for a few days, but nothing major. I’m glad I took it.
I just wish which ever healthcare worker that was working in the skilled nursing facility my Dad was in had felt the same way and taken the vaccine when they had the chance.
I’m sure they thought “What the fuck!!! It’s only a slim chance that I’ll get sick...”
So my dad who was pretty much in isolation for the last four weeks because they don’t allow visitors caught it last week, and is dead now. Because someone brought it to him. The mortuaries are so filled we almost couldn’t find one to retrieve his body. Even though all his funeral expenses were taken care of ahead of time we almost couldn’t get them to pick him up because they are out of space. I don’t even want to think about how they are storing him, because unlike the usual week or two till the burial, the earliest estimate we can get is early to mid March.
So yeah, it’s a slim chance of catching it, but you’re more afraid of the exceptionally small chance that you might have a severe reaction to the vaccine.
I’d like you selfish, short sighted pricks that would rather “not take the chance” to keep this in mind. The longer the virus is thriving, the greater the chance that you’ll get it. Given enough time, you or someone important to you is going to be one of those statistics.
@ddmike... Sorry to hear of your loss. I have family in healthcare and they haven't even been vaccinated cus they havent been offered the chance as yet. Just hoping that your dads care workers weren't irresponsible just not high enoigh in the pecking order.
Again sorry for your loss.

The longer you allow this thing to circulate the more mutations will occur. Cant wait for one that is more deadly and more infectious. I'm sure the maga koolaid drinkers and the antivaxxers will still be comparing it to the common flu and car accidents and how warm weather and injecting bleach is the best cure.
