You do realize that as you are hoping for failure for this companies that 4,600 people will loose jobs at Twitter?
That will not happen. Jack Dorsey will either change his position or he will be ousted by the Board of Directors. But if not, they made a conscious decision and he has to live with the consequences.
The problem with our country now is that people take NO responsibility for their actions. People looted stores of millions of dollars of merchandise and no responsibility.
People burned down businesses, smashed windows, torn down statues and no consequences.
Time for people to be responsible for their decisions. Cancel Trump and 74 million people might cancel YOU.

I for one will not be afraid of Twitter or Facebook or others purging the crap down the toilet.
Once everyone has been expelled and they form their own network, and then get slapped around over and over again with fines and they shoot themselves in the foot and loose financial back and cost themselves elections with missteps, they will fuck off and come back to Twitter and everything else with their tail between their legs.

No, even I recognize that the major social media platforms have issues as to who they do and don’t allow. But it goes to show how much of a threat Trump has become that they yanked him immediately.
And as commented on LRC, Twitter, Amazon, Google and Facebook also have 1st amendments rights as to what they will and will not allow and it is at their discretion, and no lawsuits that come before the courts in regards to this will force their hands.
So go after those people, punish them.... the people doing the looting, breaking the law should be punished

But the left didn't want to go after anyone all summer long.....they didn't want to arrest, prosecute and convict people who supported them. They wanted their voters to vote, not be in prison. The left is pushing for all the facial recognition and technology to identify the rioters at the Capitol.....that same technology and effort could have been directed to rioters in Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, etc. But the Democrats didn't want it and pushed to have the police stand down.
When companies who have protection from suit because they are supposed to provide an open platform now are full on editorializing and no longer offering that open platform, they cannot have those same protections. Section 230 protection needs to be removed so anyone who feels they have been financially harmed, slandered, or otherwise discriminated against under various Federal statues can sue Twitter, Facebook or whoever.
I really can't get my head around people who are okay with the censorship done by any of the tech oligarchs like twit.
Do you really think they're just going to stop with trump? How about the next guy that advocates for something they don't like?
It's mind boggling that you think what they're doing is fine as long as they're doing it for something you agree on. But America is supposed to be about discourse and the exchange of ideas even the ones you don't agree with, that's how we grow not only as people but as a nation.

Amen. We all need to wake up. We have been one of the freest nations in the world. Our 'democratic' 'experiment has worked well for nearly 250 years. So now we are going to allow it to all go away within a handful of years. Our forefathers fought and died for this country and its many freedoms. The erosion of free speech for one is the erosion of this country.
That is exactly what free speech means.....I support YOUR right to speak against what I believe. It isn't really free speech until you allow opposition. Try to speak out in China....oops, we are seeing in Hong Kong what will happen to you. We are on the slippery slope and people on the left are just pushing us down faster.

But they can still be sued by anyone who feels their policies on censorship or restriction of commerce are unfairly detrimental to them.....
Over 14,000 people were arrested during the BLM protests for destruction of property, rioting, etc. There were fucking consequences.
Doubt that Twitter will lose that many subscribers due to permanently kicking Trump off the site. Just because 74 million people voted for Trump doesn't mean that they are all avid Trump supporters. Most are probably just traditional Republicans who could barely swallow Trump's behavior but ended up voting for him. IMHO, most of the rest don't really give a fuck that Trump was booted. In six-months, Twitter will be stronger than ever. Buy the dip. There is only one thing that really scares Big Tech - using the antitrust laws to break them up and limiting targeted advertising.
Delilah I agree! Then Maxine Waters, Pelosi and several other Dems should face accounts being blocked! What they said absolutely was pushing violence last summer and against Trump. I listened to the entirety of trumps speech and he never once was trying to entice her push violence.
Many investment advisors will tell you that when a stock drops 7 or 8% of the price you purchased it, that is the time to sell and cut your losses short. I bet some people are now looking at Twitter as a marginal investment right now.
