Mattern's German Deli in El Modena on Chapman Ave.
Claro’s in Tustin. Authentic Italian food.
Second for Claro's sandwiches...but he prepared to wait 30 minutes for a sandwich, they're not exactly fast! Be sure to grab a number at the deli counter as soon as you enter, and then you want walk around, shop, and enjoy the aroma in there -- smells like an authentic, old school Italian market in New York, without meat hanging from the ceilings!

Ur moms place
Aged roast beef
With an all she can swallow policy
Best deal in town!

I'm always on the hunt for the best pastrami sandwich...loved the one at jerry's deli in costa mesa before they closed

Claro's in Tustin is outstanding plus the market has all of the best Italian food you could ask for.
@Kayman. Dude, you into necrophilia? 😀 back to smh 😄
@Everyone
Claro's in Tustin is awesome...and I never ordered a sandwich from them. Clearly I am missing a good thing.
Love the suggestions.
Also...Zeroes... Smh 😁

DiSimone’s in Huntington Beach
One of the best pastrami sandwiches I’ve had in OC.
I liked it...keep telling wife to pick me up one again...they have little dance studio near there and at 6days a week, so no excuse
no, I'm into sex...why aren't you?

Katella Deli and Bakery in Los Alamitos has fantastic pastrami. Don't get the lean, get the 'fatty' version. They make their own and it's really good. I may get up there for a pound today. I haven't tried their sandwiches though.
The other suggestions up there are all great too.

I found a place called Mattern out of Orange in on Friday. Sandwiches are...meh but they are the guys who supply German deli meats around So Cal so that was neat.
I discovered Angelo’s Deli in Seal Beach.
Reminds me of the a few European ex-pats spots I knew back in the day in Costa Rica.
Champagnes Bistro & Deli in Newport Beach at the 73 & Bison Ave. ( near UCI campus )
I frequently used to get sandwiches for lunch when I worked in the area . Great place.
Full-service bistro with spacious seating for breakfast, sandwiches & hearty American entrees.
The subway in garden grove has a hole on their wall.
Um, Benjies NY Deli is on Tustin Ave in Santa Ana, not CM.
Been there a lot
Champagnes in Newport is not a real deli but it is very good
Started originally as a sandwich shop/market where the wine store is now
There's also Mustards in Newport Coast and Irvine
And, there's excellent Mexican delis in Santa Ana
"Um, Benjies NY Deli is on Tustin Ave in Santa Ana, not CM.

Damn. Pre-COVID, I went there a lot as well. (I also like Katella Deli).
I probably saw you and didn't even know it.
Scary.
just had the DiSimone’s pastrami...shit is really good. it also heats up well the next day...not too many sandwiches can make that claim
think it was like 18inches long? it's a little different than some others...bread is great
Not a hole in the wall, but Katella Deli is b0mb by
Los Alamitos Race Track, great pastrami, deli, and bakery good---made fresh daily!
i had driven by that deli many times on the way home from poker as the freeways were fucked up for years and years...never gone in though. need to make a better effort or the primary reason driving in that direction.

Cortina's Italian restaurant and deli in Anaheim.
Claros started in the SGV and have at least two shops in the OC. If La Habra is still open?
FUCK the Katella joint for a sandwich. Clean the bakery out and die from a sugar over dose. Yum
What a way to go.

InSearchofGINA...
UHHH... I'm a good reason to drive in that direction.. we can DO All 3: Me, deli, & Poker

I’ve been to New Delhi..... I don’t recommend it.

European Deluxe Sausage Kitchen.
On Olympic near Doherty, in Beverly Hills.
Been going there for over 30 years.
Reminiscent of the wurstmeister shops in Bavaria, but they are also open to new ideas.
Surprisingly, they have some intriguing South African offerings. Biltong, a type of jerky, is a favorite.
They even have a great Andouille, that I use in gumbo.
BTW, found a qtr of that pastrami three days later in fridge...still great heated up with microwave
@ Airmobile
European Deluxe Sausage Kitchen is amazing. The chorizo jerky and the German liverwurst in the gold tube are my favorites from there.
If you enjoy a decent cuban sandwhich, keep DeSimone Deli & Bakery in your back pocket
Gary's deli in Newport, on PCH just south of McArthur is awesome! Everything is fresh, and the portions are very generous . Love that place!
Also, the Bronx sandwich company in oc (Tustin, Costa Mesa and Anaheim locations) makes a great sandwich.
Santa Fe Importers in Long Beach has a sister store in Seal Beach on Seal Beach Blvd, north of the 405 Fwy. Never had anything I didn’t like.
