kinda hard when you only have an ace-high busted flush and trying to get them off the winning hand, they might not see again for quite some time

Sooner or later (probably sooner) the Senate will be right back to its same old game of the minority using the filibuster to hold up the majority agenda,
Especially since doing the FB is so easy mow. You just say a few words, and the majority is halted in its tracks.
It used to be that you had to be on the floor, talking, the whole time. Now you just say a few words and go back to Twitter.

How can the Senate vote to remove Trump from office when he's no longer in office?

Only some on the left want to remove the filibuster. They don’t have the votes. Smart people realize you govern for today and tomorrow. You have to account for the reality that power shifts.

agree with that, but they will be getting pressure each time the pubs block anything or anyone...so pubs need to be thoughtful of it...THEY also want an agreement NOW on it, so that it's not part of each and every decision that comes before the senate - if you block this, we will change the rules

Schubert.....now don't let logic and rational thought cloud your judgement. They will also close the gate after the horse has left the pen. And I bet they will buy a ticket to the 2020 Super Bowl tomorrow, and buy a ticket to last week's lottery.....
Hey, they spent 4 years chasing around after Russia collusion, and never stumbled over the illegal FISA warrants that were granted for spying on U.S. citizens.
So, heck, it only makes sense they will spend the next month removing Trump from office....

future office potential...maybe take away his pension/security protections
he has about 200m in campaign funds last I saw...that's a nice headstart

for him or someone else...I'm sure the pubs would like to get their hands on big portions of that money

Kaiser is right about the Left probably not having the votes to get rid of the filibuster. Shortly after the election in November Joe Manchin the Democratic Senator from West Virginia got into a public pissing contest with AOC and the Squad. He told them they could forget about ending the filibuster or adding more seats to the Supreme Court because he would vote against it. He also blamed them for the losing a number of seats for the Democrats because Republicans used them as examples of the Democratic Party and ran against that image.
I imagine there are a few Democrats that agree with him. He just happens to be in a state that is not real liberal, knows he is not going any higher than his current office and so doesn't care if he annoys AOC and Company.
