"Gov. Gavin Newsom is expected to lift California's strict stay-at-home orders he imposed on much of the state in December.
In a letter to restaurant owners, the California Restaurant Association says sources tell them that officials with Gov. Newsom's office plan to lift the stay-at-home orders in all regions of the state on Monday."
I guess you have to balance out the economy and defeating the virus, but from an epidemiological point of view, this is a mistake. We shouldn't be reducing any measure until new cases become very low. Keeping cases high around will give it more ability to mutate into another variant that could possibly escape from the immunity produced by vaccines. It already has mutated enough in South Africa to possibly weaken the effectiveness of vaccines.

Gavin is feeling the heat of the numbers of recall signatures.....
He is now realizing that people hate his guts and his stupid decision-making. Closing parks, outdoor dining, etc. And he is also staring at his budget numbers....
Funny as hell watching gruesome trying to save his political life. He gets recalled he can watch his political aspirations circle the toilet on the way to the cesspit.
Now that the Recall Newsom has collected over 1 million signatures, NOW Gavin opens the state back up....even with terrible Covid numbers.....if that isn't political bullshit, I don't know what is.....
He either believes in the shut down or not. But don't waiver due to how the wind is blowing.

The lawsuits must really be piling up from business owners fighting for their rights to do business.
Covid is not bs, but blindly closing businesses based on panic won't help anyone either.
If you fear getting covid from eating out, getting your hair done, stay at home.
Saying things need to stay closed till it gets better is easy if you still have your income to support you.
Besides, when has the government had your best interests in mind in doing anything.
^Even though eating outdoors is not entirely safe (close contact, under a tent (not completely outdoors), with masks off), it's relatively safer than the alternative -- going to someone's house instead and eating indoors with masks off. The exposure to aerosols is much greater indoors. For that very reason, we shouldn't have closed outdoor dining. And it would have helped businesses too.
This was clearly political. Every Californian who died due to covid was Gavin Newsom’s fault and every one who has died since January 20th is Biden’s fault. 20,000 so far.

Well new cases are really dropping fast over the last week. I assume positivity may be down too. Hospitalizations are starting to go down.
But, make no mistake, this is also a political decision. Newsom is getting sued by restaurants who want to open up outside dining. Also, he may get recalled.
Every time he has set a benchmark for cases ... it has reached that benchmark within 24-72 hours. Its because he knows the numbers, for at the minimum, 1 week in advance ... they release them in a way to fit their narrative.
So .. My guess is that we will be around 1000 Cases a day in LA County within the next 2 weeks. The ICU beds will open up ... Hospitalizations will miraculously drop .. and Gavin will look good doing it. He still has 21 months to make everyone forget about this when he runs for re-election in November 2022.

It might. Depends on other factors that also are changing or have changed recently, like how much immunity do we have now and how soon will the winter weather be over.

Despite the article, Gavin can read the tea leaves and caves for his political life
Newsome should be recalled simply cause he a lying hypocrite no different than Donny
HOWEVER, if that happens.....which Dem takes his place?
It's possible the alternative is even worse
AND, if the recall doesn't work, which it likely won't cause face it you need a LOT of dumb Dems (I guess that's repeating myself) to vote yea on recall....and that's probably unlikely

Well Gavin really likes French Laundry and ya know ya gotta help a millionaire restaraunteur make a profit.... I mean where else are you gonna get truffles marinated in white wine with parmesan. If you haven't had it ...... you too will be able to enjoy it thanks to Uncle Gavins generous and selfless act of lifting covid restrictions. But remember mask up between bites.
