If the average over the last 3 years is about 270,000 and we had 310,000 in 2020, do we really have excess deaths of 40,000 in the year due to Covid?
And, how many were due to Covid vs. Lockdowns and other reasons? Denied or deferred medical procedures, increased suicides, etc etc
Did our Governator cause the spike this fall by closing outdoor dining options forcing everybody to stay at home with their superspreader offspring?
And, why did he disproportionately damage the poor/homeless/people of color? Did he do this purposefully cause he's white and privileged and has nice slicked back hair?
Will he survive the recall?

Well, from the actual count of COVID-19 deaths in California (according to Google), we have 41,196 deaths, which is almost equivalent to the 40,000 deaths you claim are excessive deaths.
These excessive deaths are likely from COVID-19, not governmental policy.
Yes but without covid many will lead decent lives for 10 to 20 more years. Covid deprives them and their loved ones their company and wisdom. Many societies vallue the elders. Apparently the US, not so much.
Everyone has had loved one die of all kinds of ailments for there may or may not be a cure.
Cancer, heart disease, obesity, etc.
There is always a horrible story involved.
Dont tell us what we can and cant talk about just because you know someone who died of 'something' and also happened to be diagnosed with COVID at the same time.
Unfortunately no. People did this to themselves because. People have the info but decide to take chances. Can’t blame the governor for your own mistakes .

I'm sure that's exactly how the families, of the people who died in nursing homes feel.
First you minimize the importance of COVID deaths by saying old people are going to die anyway.
Now you use these COVID deaths to make a point, implying they are important in some way.
NR, better late than never to balance the equation of Covid deaths vs. both the benefits and drawbacks of lockdowns.
Cali has had a public lockdown period where cases and deaths have spiked, more so than even some states that didn't have our purported lockdown. Either the lockdown wasn't strictly followed or it didn't really matter.......or it helped to juice the spike, most likely.
When Hair Fuhrer closed restaurants, some people chose to party indoors......so, yes....blame can be apportioned to both parties. However, maybe government should swear a Hippocratic Oath of "first, do no harm" before it promulgates health edicts?
lets just hope that Newsom doesnt appoint himself to the Senate seat vacated by KH, hopefully even if the recall petition fails it will have ended his political career like it did for Gray Davis
I think one lesson we should have learned from these lockdowns is, despite the presence of COVID, it's worse if you don't go to regular scheduled medical checkups, don't get elective surgery, don't get immunized, don't go to the hospital if you are having issues with your heart etc.. We should have kept places opened and encouraged people to do this. This would have saved perhaps a number of lives.
We also should have maintain access to opioid use disorders clinics during lockdowns. There have been an uptick in deaths here as well, although the trend seems to have begun before COVID, but COVID may have made it worse.
About 1 in 5 patients that recover from serious covid infection die within 5 months due to the damage. If it is outside 30 days (I believe I read, maybe it was 60) of covid infection it is not registered as death by covid....even though covid set up the death.
I never believed in the shutdown. There should have been some type of balance.
Keep the economy going while protecting the elderly and vulnerable
That's what public policy is supposed to be about. Instead were get the constant
fear mongering by the media and CA and NY politicians decide that it's more important
to save lives while destroying the economy by putting people out of business, unemployed and
out of school. Where's the science that justifies this? So far the county of LA health dept nor
Gov Newsom have come up empty.
Who is dying of covid-19. Mostly people over 65.
If you're under 25, you are more likely to die of something other than covid-19.
And now with Biden as president, you can expect more misery to come.
I never thought that HX may one of the last places you can express your opinion
without repercussions.
The decrease in hospitalizations and total cases is due in part to lockdown orders. Some studies even suggest the ban on outside dining played a role in the decreases. No one can say with 100% certainty of course. But now with vaccinations taking place things may start to get better. Unless of course these new more infectious strains run rampant and or people let their guards down on masking and social distancing.
@KaiserSoce, if that's the case, then it's the end of our social life for another year?
No restaurants, bars, nightclubs, movie theaters, concerts, or sporting events.
I wonder why social distancing doesn't include no sex. LMAO
BTW, the Tokyo Olympics is still on.
"Ball, the Greene of HX, you are dragging everybody down. Jew laser is easier to believe."
Really, that's so farfetched, eh?
Hard to believe that T-day, XMAS, New Years had a lot of families indoors spreading the virus?
People have no outdoor dining option forcing them back into close quarters.
CA and NY have had strict lock downs, yet are leading the nation in deaths and stupid governators.
Yeah, crazy thinking for sure.
How did those Jews get so clever with lasers, anyway?
Geeze... trump said it would go away by its self. Now you fuck heads have the nerve to start dumping on Biden.... we're going to be wearing masks for awhile.
ur lucky I'm in a good mood hydie
came real close to adding an extremely disrespectful
comment aimed in your direction
trying to turn over a new leaf this year
Then you morons think we're dumb enough to listen to your medical advice.??? The people
who are ok with separating kids from parents.. to send a message.??? People who associate skin
color with intelligence and income level. At this point it looks hopeless to find a middle ground.
@mbc...I don't give out medical advice but I do know of a new Justice Department official in Charge of the Civil Rights division that does associate intelligence with skin color.
Obama got away with separating parents from their offspring
And, so far mbc has gotten away with a clear TOS
Seriously, there's no bigger bigot than a progressive, they're worse than Bull Conner
As they slice and dice everybody into smaller protected groups
Won't be very far down the road before the mixed relationships we see every day make it practically impossible to slice and dice
Then what?
What was it Tiger Woods called himself?
Caliblasian?
Technically, from a strictly genetic POV, every human has African DNA still. You can be traced there thru your mother's side.
Fucking honkies
