I loved KLOS and KMET...loved Dr. Demento and always laughed at paraquat kelly....he was uber concerend about spraying chemicals on weed...whatever dude...the MET has been gone for years...over 30 now and KLOS as well as most on air stations suck...SiriusXM is the only way to go!!!!

KMET was always part of my day back then. Subversive personalities, open play list, and great humor.
My buddies and I would crack up at the Fish Report and we all wanted to do both Cynthia Fox and The Burner, Mary Turner.

|
Does anyone remember the Finally a Friday concerts in the morning?
Friends and I would ditch school to go to those concerts. Saw up and coming LA bands before hitting big. Great times!

|

105.5 KNAC - The best Metal station that ever existed.

There's always that great Progressive station playing in their heads.

Yup I remember the 7th day on Sunday on KLOS. I would record the LPs on a cassette deck. Totally stealing the music. Just sayin 71b

Lots of posters on this blog are well past their "sell by" date
Some of us have rotted in our packaging and should be tossed
|

KMET, KLOS, KNAC, KROQ all succumbed to corporate ownership and went to shit!
When they were just local radio stations they were awesome! No play list - you'd hear the Doors then Zappa, then Carol King, then Sabbath. The music was all over the map!
Now they're just worthless.

i think they went to shit as soon as i went 100 percent sports talk radio
lil ones in the car now...don't like sports talk...so have to flip it back on, but they have music services they sub to also...that's a problem
|
|
KMET became KTWV in Feb 87 and went from Rock to "New Age" music...
Eventually became smooth Jazz which was not so bad.
I cant even listen to it now
|
|
Rabbit your musically racist.
|
|
Yep, Kevin and Sluggo, those two clowns think they have a clue, they don't, Greg or Craig B Harrold another one. But that's ABC for ya. And those other two on 98.7 Striker and someone else.
Ugh ok ok, time for Pandora with ANIX and The Birthday Massacre and some Lady Gaga mixed in with ELP and Pink Floyd. " You Have to Explain Why Your Mad, Even if You Are not Mad "
.

Hey Finch...
Butz says you are musically racist!
Hey Butz I actually like some of the music. It's when the music stops and on air personalities talk is when I want to puke.
They switched away from smooth jazz to include R&B and claim to be "diverse" and more "inclusive".
Mixing in Hootie and the Blowfish with mostly R&B may be musically diverse but it's pretty obvious the majority of the playlist is based on one common trait among the artists...
But I'm the racist... π
|
|
I dig all music. That's what makes so cool.
Is musically racist even a thing? I don't think so.

I loved KMET back in the day. I still remember their final moments...
And in the end
The love you take
Is equal to
The love you make
Good times!
