RePubicans always talk about the spending of money and its future effect on the US deficit, however, they are always giving rich 1% corporations/people major tax breaks and loopholes so that they pay nothing. Meanwhile, the middle class is strapped with paying off the debt. Trump and RePubicans gave the rich 1% the keys to making more billions during COVID19 while reducing the mortgage interest rate to all middle class citizens who now owe taxes due to the change. They are still pushing their stupid Trickle Down theory from the Reagan era! Most corporations don't care about their employees as we saw that they are against the raise of the minimum wage to $15/hr.

With a little typing, even a moron like the Don can do it....find stuff on the interwebz!
Defense, while a large dollar figure has been a steadily shrinking portion of the budget, percentage wise. The Don is correct that we spend too much but it's the mandatory transfer payments baked in that will crush your clones.
Guess what?
We're better off that your clones will be slaves fit only for Soylent Green

this could be exciting for new parents...get the saving started early
Will I get the dependent bonus for a newborn?
If you had a baby in 2021 and meet the rest of the eligibility criteria, you can claim the additional $1,400 per child when you file your 2021 taxes.
If you had a child in 2020 and your return has been processed, you should automatically get the additional payment. If you haven't yet filed your 2020 taxes or they haven't been processed by the IRS by the time the payments are issued, you can claim the dependent bonus on your 2021 taxes`
if nothing else were to ever get done...by age 59 that lil 1400 could be close to 500k.
The S&P 500 index is a benchmark of American stock market performance, dating back to the 1920s.
The index has returned a historic annualized average return of around 10% since its inception through 2019.

Jazz are you afraid you will have to pay your fair share of taxes. As much as you whine you have that serious fatal disease. I can take all the money I inherited stole to my coffin. You probably believe restaurants should give you coffee for free while eating breakfast. The upper 10 percent need their taxes tripled to balance things out. Time for the takers to pay their part.

No I am afraid that YOUR taxes and the taxes of every American taxpayer is going to go up.
As Granite said, we are already moving out of this economic downturn. In fact if stupid states like our own would open up a little more, we would be in great economic shape, considering what we have endured for the last year.
But like all stupid people on the left, you need to read up about how much the rich actually pay.
From one source, the top 1% pay 37% of all Federal income tax and the top 5% pay 58% of the total.
But more telling, from another source, the share of reported income earned by the top 1 percent of taxpayers fell slightly, to 20.9 percent in 2018 from 21 percent in 2017. Their share of federal individual income taxes rose by 1.6 percentage points to 40.1 percent.
So that top 1% earned 21% of the income but paid 40% of the taxes. They actually paid DOUBLE their share of the income tax.
So who is NOT paying their fair share.

I’m going to be one of those guys that say that I don’t qualify for the stimulus check but in reality I am.
|
|
Is Anyone hyped? Even with rightwing media attacking it daily it still has 59% support among Republicans. Imagine if they tried to work with the Dems instead of complaining about Dr Seuss books that havent been sold in years being discontinued.
|
|
Yes, 59% of Americans are in favor of getting a $1400 check.
That is a fucking no brainer when that is how it is worded.
But how about, we passed a $1.7 trillion bill in March 2020
We passed a $0.9 trillion bill in December 2020
Now we are passing a $1.9 trillion bill in March 2021.
That makes up $4.5 TRILLION of additional debt for the United States, or $13,235 more debt for every person in this country that will have to be paid off including the interest on the loan for the money.
Your stimulus checks and those of your fellow Americans make up $410 billion of the $4.5 trillion or about 9% of the total......
The rest just adds to your indebtedness for the rest of your life.
Might have a different response.
|
|
How about wording it in reality...
"What is your opinion with the Democrats who control the house and senate decided to let the American taxpayer bail out failing blue states by funding union pensions and pet projects."
Even democrats in fiscally responsible states wouldnt agree with that.

Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
History lesson for the day:
“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”
― Alexander Fraser Tytler

In the 9th century AD, the Chinese fiat currency collapsed due to overprinting.
200 years later, the same occurred to the Mongol Empire
In the 1920's, you needed a wheelbarrow to carry enough German Marks to buy a loaf of bead
Today, you can buy a 100 Trillion dollar Zimbabwe banknote for $167.75.
And, that's overpriced

@GBD, in summary we are in deep dodo. But as Alfred E Newman used to
