As much as there are business that are going to choose to require mask there will be those that don't want to require customers or employees to wear them. Some will enforce a mandate out of fear of losing business No big deal until they require that in order to enter their licensed business they require proof of vaccine or test. Employers are already backing down when it is brought to their attention that you can't require somebody to participate in a medical procedure that was not approved by the FDA. Remember these test and gene therapy called vaccines are approved for Emergency use. Even the military is not forcing their personal to get these. If they become FDA approved it will be a different issue. Vaccine passports are already a thing in Israel. They are floating the idea of airlines, concerts and schools having them. LAUSD has a daily wellness pass.
I think this reaction would have happened already with Ebola, zinka or swine flu. The narrative are the same yet they didn't have the infrastructure to have people work and school from home or did they have the wide availability of smart phones to set up tracking networks.
I'll give you my unsolicited fear about all of this. It is not going to end with covid 19. There will be a another and another bio agent that will call for this reactions. The next ones may actually be very harmful.

Do they have the same rigid regulations as they do in the USA? I would assume they don't, but they seem to keep the clients safe. Reputation is a big deal

It seems that you have cherry-picked your data so you can claim that masks never have been shown to work. Actually, that is not what your studies say. They say the studies are inconclusive — masks may work or may not work. Actually, it is difficult to show real world effects with mask wearing because the effect size may not be very large for various reasons such as correct mask fitting. Many of these studies are underpowered— the sample size is too small. You should know there are a bunch of studies that are powered enough to show that masks — particularly surgical masks — do work. The best and most fair and balanced review is linked to this post.
It is one thing to say you don’t like masks because they are intrusive and take away your rights. That is ok. But you Covid deniers clearly don’t think that is good enough, so you try to twist the data that’s out there to claim that the science doesn’t even back up mask wearing, which is simply not true. I admit that the data could be better for mask wearing. There aren’t enough real world experiments used for cloth masks and respirators. But the consensus on surgical masks is that they have a small to moderate effect, but the size of this effect is not completely certain either— but there is an effect.

Attached you will find the latest papers showing efficacy of mask wearing for COVID-19. These are not RCT’s admittedly. The one RCT was the Danish mask study which showed a small positive effect of protection for the wearer. That study though was underpowered. People in the controls could wear a mask if they wanted, and compliance wasn’t strict for the mask wearing group.
Again, I wish there were more data, but there seems like enough of an effect, when combined with the precautionary principle, to warrant the use of masks.

Yes, if you are wearing an N95 or one of the masks that are double sided material with a HEPA filter inserted between.
Many people are wearing a single piece of cloth gator and those will stop large particles, but everything else will penetrate both in and out.
At least 20% of people I observe have the masks below their noses, as the mask is baggy and had no nose piece to crimp to conform to their nose. So they can breathe in ANYTHING through their noses with NO filtering.
