What I'm seeing is that - statistically - the border is not a whole lot better or worse than it was for the previous 4 years.
It doesn't look open.
I've also noticed that Fox News has been freaking the fuck out about it since the minute they stopped freaking out about the "stolen" election - which statistically, wasn't stolen.
I'm also noticing that there are a bunch of people who toe that FoxNews line and than yowl and howl about how someone else- I don't even know who these people are- are open border socialist tools.
This kind of seems like a bunch of people yelling at each other about how butthurt they are.
I don't get it.

Maybe look harder Frank? The border crisis is on track to have the most illegal crossings in 20 years.

It's not like theres just one story either... a lot of stories saying highest in 20 years.
And yet in early Jan the flow had tapered off because...
1) Border patrol was doing their job detaining illegals and deporting them.
2) Asylum seekers adhered to Trumps remain in Mexico plan.
3) Border wall almost complete.
4) No absurd "freebies" offered to migrants to cross illegally. For sure a Biden thing.

Anyone who can't see the border is far worse than during Trump is just flat out NOT LOOKING. Turn off CNN and check the news reports from the actual border towns. Read their news articles, watch their local news people.
It is a crisis and will get worse before it gets better. Joe's answer is to just keep creating more beds for them to sleep.....open the Long Beach Convention Center, use multiple military bases....more beds, more beds, more beds.....
