Of course, rule 1.....don't fight or try to run or in this case, try to drive away......
i don't quite understand how someone fights back when there are maybe 3 police cars there?
per Shannon sharp...excessive force used for expired tags/hanging air freshener....he opened with nothing about gun charges
Yeah, the dude was bailing due to the firearms warrant.....
Until all law enforcement moves to 'no foot or vehicle pursuit' you are not going to evade the police. They have lots of resources including helicopters to chase your ass down.

Accident? Smh

^^^
Did you watch the video? I think it was pretty clear from her comments that it was a mistake..
But I am not in her head and wasn't there, but you obviously have made your mind up.....

It wasn't an accident. Policing in our country is inherently & intentionally racist.
Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence. I am done with those who condone government funded murder.
No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can't be reformed.
Yes, and Daunte Wright was just minding his own business, and did nothing to fight, resist, flee......
Being careless can't be called an accident. Twenty-six years as an officer and you don't know whats in your hand, duty weapon or taser. Oh please.
You do realize most police officers have NEVER discharged their weapons while on duty.
Only 27% have actually fired them in the line of duty other than training or firing range.
That goes down with female law enforcement at only 11%.

that reuters link didn't work
It works for me.....
That's an excuse for killing someone? Not killing enough citizens to know I'm not holding taser?

Here is another link with some of the same information.

No excuse. But remember, they were detaining him on a firearm warrant. He was struggling to get into the car, and drive off....
You have NO idea if he has that gun in the car, you have 1/10 of a second to make your split decision,...possibly YOU will be the one who gets shot.
Terrible mistake but if the dude hadn't resisted and fought, he would be alive today....
I have several friends who were LE.....the pressure is immense to NOT make a wrong decision, knowing a wrong decision may end YOUR life.
New Mexico officer did NOT make the right decision and is dead.
She thought she had taser in her hand. It was not a deadly force situation. Why make excuses for bad judgment. She fucked up.
Yes she did. But let’s trash all cops, and burn the city. But don’t forget to loot and get those new Nikes.
I believe everyone should be able to resist, run and not comply with the police. We should never have to blame ourselves for our own actions because I was raised to believe it always someone else’s fault.
Now excuse me, I have to donate more money to cullors, I mean BLM.
But HE fucked up also. His initial actions created the deadly situation but no one wants to talk about that. Put your hands behind your back, don’t resist and he is still alive. It is called contributory negligence.
Jazz. you are wasting your time.. with these people.. it's like talking to a wall..
It is like talking to a wall...
Dont you know that black privilege allows you to willfully resist arrest, fight with cops, steal their weapons and run?...
Come on man... if law enforcement so much as harms the guy then the race baiters in media and BLM step in to raise holy hell, set the city on fire, and let everyone loot the place.
And the Progressive Democrats turn a blind eye with a grin knowing this is the chaos they thrive on.
He was clearly afraid of the police. We do not know or understand what it is to be in a young black mans shoes. We do not understand what it means to be driving while black. (Many of the black men I know have suffered this humiliation ) Too many young black men when stopped by the police- rightly or wrongly - believe they are in danger. The desire to get away is part of this. He had to be aware that Floyd had just been killed for trying to pass a fake $20 a short distance away. Plus are you always just going to be passive at mistreatment. Maybe some people have had enough. I am not justifying what Wright did. But on some level I understand.
Really, How about not resisting arrest? How many of these people would still be alive?
It seems EVERY video, the person is resisting arrest.
"It is like talking to a wall..."
Seems like it's that way for people on both sides of the issue.
If it weren't for the fact that someone died
Its kinda funny that this shit is happening in lily white uber progressive Minnesota
Rather than in the cracker white south
By the way, did anybody get a count on the number of blacks killed in Africa today?
Just curious
Lets stick closer to home, how many in Chicago? New York, LA
or any other democrap ran city for that matter?
always good to see where people are coming from and how they get there
if this was my offspring? that had weapons charges and the other stuff...besides being sad, would probably be getting a little relief that he didn't get a chance to kill someone...which was the track he was on.
with his track record...odds were he was never going to be legally/gainfully employed again... I guess it was possible
maybe get 10m in gofundme and settlements...saying to myself, HE took one for the team the new suicide by cops with the bonus. comes with money and notoriety
Jazz is probably the type of guy who would say, "Yeah that dude shouldn't have raped that girl, but why was she wearing such a provocative dress? Why was she at a bar at 2 in the morning?"
I know of people that have been driving a car for 30 years and accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake and have an accident. That type of error is more likely to show up when somebody is under stress. Was this an accident? The only person that really knows is the police officer that shot him. Under the circumstances should they have been looking to use a taser on this man? Hopefully we will find out.
Personally if a cop pulls me over I put my hands on the top of the steering wheel and wait for him to get up to my window. I don't want to give him any chance to get stressed and make a mistake. But then again that is just me.
Daunte Wright accused of choking and robbing a woman at gunpoint, had an arrest warrant
shit this is sounding a little familiar...bring on the horse carriage and celebs for funeral
"Personally if a cop pulls me over I put my hands on the top of the steering wheel and wait for him to get up to my window. I don't want to give him any chance to get stressed and make a mistake. But then again that is just me."
Exactly what smart people do. Why resist? You can and might get shot...
nr, You posted you were going to stop blogging, just another non fact post from you?
Why do people think that it's ok to resist arrest and fight with cops?
NR... you are an idiot. Every one of these incidents start in the same manner. Struggle, fight with the cops, resist, refuse to follow instructions and even trying to run. Look at the pattern. The outcome will nearly always be the same. Definition of insanity... do the same thing and expect a different outcome. Or maybe the outcome is like the New Mexico officer shot and killed at a traffic stop. When will people figure this simple thing out. Do what the cops says and live for another day.
Jazz, please stop with that common sense BS!
nr is an idiot...
Jazz quoting Einstein?
Now, that's definitely insane.
But if it had been Angler?
No. No way. More likely a black hole would swallow up the earth before that moron says anything intelligent.

LOL, You're so far out there nr, it's like your dude's brother...

it was at least the 16th such “weapons confusion” incident in the United States since 2001.
happens
think the super close range of incident might have made it that she never SAW the color of the weapon she unholstered

The video says it all. A mistake. A mistake that started way before the stop. It started the day he decided to carry a gun, continued when he failed to go to court and when he failed to cooperate. That led to this tragic result. No one could have seen this coming. That officer made a huge mistake that costed someone their life but she had no intent on taking his life. It was unfortunate. Then the city mourns the loss by stealing tv's. Whats that really say about those out their. This has nothing to do with race.
I once had a bunch of cops pull their guns on myself and a friend.
We followed the officers orders and everything worked out.
I definitely wasn't interested in getting shot.
