Let the fun begin.
That is an interesting statement.
This whole incident was tragic. A life was lost, a country was torn apart, millions of dollars of damage across the country, and another life will be in jail for the rest of his life.....and you post, 'let the fun begin' ......SMH

Justice was served!

Justice is being served, and healing is starting.
I’m referring to the talking heads that will spin this into something else to promote their own agenda. Common sense dictates we diffuse any potential conflict. Those that escalate it deserve their own retribution.

Historically, facts to achieve justice only worked for one group of ppl in criminal cases where the defendant is of caucasian descent and the victim is of African or Native American descent. This judicial system is barely starting to apply facts equally to arrive at real justice.

Paknarod, Did you watch the trial? The prosecution laid out a crystal clear case, The defense foundered. You have no factual evidence to support your supposition that this verdict was reached because of “mob rule.”

Is there going to be a violent protest anyway?

He was framed

Good take Crane. So we should just murder him. Pull your head out of your ass.

Hope the MTF rot in jail

Should’ve claimed he feared for his life. Every jury gobbles that shit up.
|
|
He got what he deserved BUT ... I wouldn't celibate yet.
His defense attorneys will use waters' comments and say the jury was tainted by them.
The judge should have sequestered them so there wouldn't be any doubt that the jury was clean and they can now claim that there's no way he can get a fair trial anywhere in the U.S.

Yes, and Joe came out this morning also about hoping the verdict would be guilty.....so there are a number of instances where public officials professed what they wanted as the outcome.
|
|
First thing that came to my mind when I saw Joe said that was he was scared shitless about it coming back not guilty and he would be left to deal with the country blowing up with rioting and looting.

It will be tied up in appeals on each count.
He'll be terminated from the force, with a pension,
and live in obscurity.
Doubt he'll ever see jail time.
If he's guilty of civil rights violations, he'll be in a FEDERAL PENITENTIARY! Country Club prison.
In the civil trial (next), the family can sue him for wrongful death, and take every last penny he WILL EVER COLLECT.
don't forget the book and movie rights!

I surprised myself, because I felt a bit sad that a former police officer had to be taken away in handcuffs. I did not expect to feel any sympathy at all for Chauvin, but I did, in spite of the crime he committed.
When you come down to it, maybe that is the difference between people like me and people like Derek Chauvin.
The way Chauvin stayed on top of Floyd until Floyd was unconscious and then still stayed on him after that, like he was some kind of threat, displayed a complete lack of understanding that George Floyd was a human being, just like the rest of us are. No empathy at all. None.
Wearing a badge gives a person great authority, but it also comes with a huge responsibility to obey the law and preserve life whenever possible. Chauvin failed the badge.

Already reports coming in of the local media having doxxed the jury... meaning leaked identity and place of residence.
Not sure exactly "when" this happened but this shit show is not just headed towards appeal based on Maxine Waters but a mistrial is likely.
|
|
I won't be holding my breath for Chauvin to get a new trial on appeal. There are guys in prison who had ALL the witnesses against them later say they lied because they were pressured by prosecutors, and their appeals STILL failed.
It takes almost a miracle to win a new trial once you are convicted.
If procedure was bad, the appeals court says "Yeah, but the evidence against you was overwhelming, so the jury would have convicted you anyway."
If the evidence is bad, the appeals court says "Yeah, but the procedure was followed, so you got a fair trial."
