"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
I'm not saying that he should have been fired, but at no point in the 1st Amendment does it say the an employer can't fire someone for what they say.

Pretty ironic that the guy was an “offensive” line coach. They fired his ass for making offensive comments.
