Generally speaking, rich people don't go to prison over tax problems. The burden of proof that they knew they were committing fraud is a pretty heavy burden, and rich folks have people below them acting as buffers on the whole question of what they really knew.
Second, it's pretty hard to get a fair jury on something as politically charged as a criminal trial for an ex-President. Can a prosecutor really get 12 people to convict, without at least one Trump supporter voting to acquit no matter what?
Trump may be guilty of something and may even plead guilty for a fine and a probation, but I doubt he will ever see the inside of an actual jail cell.
Regardless of party, the wealthy are the true 'elites' of our nation, not the politicians or reporters or college professors or other people the right likes to pin that label on.
It has been that way in every civilization (except for the occasional revolution where the common folks go on a killing spree against the rich, like the French Revolution).
