Paul told the truth whether you liked it or not. Didn't usually make him the most popular man in the room, but in hindsight, after you separate the egos and embarrassment, you see that he was putting a mirror in your face and sometimes the reflection was ugly. RIP.

Paul told you what he believed to be the truth whether you like it or not.
He was a very good comedy writer. Less than average stand-up performer. He experienced a lot of frustration, discrimination and pain over his lifetime. It understandably made him bitter and angry. Anger and bitterness will always hold you back... nobody wants to work with that all of the time.
