Imagine a medical form for gender requires you to solve for the following
(l1 ∨ l2 ∨ x2) ∧
(¬x2 ∨ l3 ∨ x3) ∧
(¬x3 ∨ l4 ∨ x4) ∧ ⋯ ∧
(¬xn − 3 ∨ ln − 2 ∨ xn − 2) ∧
(¬xn − 2 ∨ ln − 1 ∨ ln)

So the Boolean satisfiability is involved with determining if the variables are binary.
In all of the work I do everything is binary. Either single bit binary or multi-bit having been mapped from an analog signal to digital for some form of signal processing.
I'm not sure exactly which operations are inferred in the equation you post or what that variable represent but everything in Boolean algebra happens with 'and', 'or', and 'invert'.
That alone enables the solution to all logic problems and the implementation of add, subtract, multiply, divide, and the creation of finite state machines chugging away at billions of operations per second.
If I fill out a medical related to gender I just put 'Male's and if they want any more specifics I will say 'alpha'.
