DeSantis recently said if Stacey Abrams win Georgia, there will be a “Cold War” between Florida & Georgia, with Florida sandwiched between Raul Castro and Stacey Abrams. He said the latter implying there’s not much difference between an authoritarian thug and someone who is left but still believes in representative democracy.

BTW the Florida law isn't about gay or trans. It's about teachers not teaching sexuality to kids that are in kindergarten through the 3rd grade.
Why's that so offensive isn't the question. Why do kids that young have to be lectured to about it is the question.
The other thing is that why are TPTB going out of their way to for 5% of the population?
They aren't 'special' so why are they deemed to be a protected class?

My question to all you people who follow politics. Do you actually follow the laws that are being proposed and coming out of Sacramento? Do You tracked the bills? are you registered under the legislative portals to vote opposition or support for these bills in committee? This is a very powerful tool to let representatives know why a bill is not in the best interest of the people.
This past month I've been involved in pushing back for bills that I didn't approve of amongst other people that I've teamed up with.
Do you follow everything going on in your city council and County Board or just when somebody brings it to your attention?

I think it's ridiculous that the teachers think they have any authority over this "education guidance" much less that its "radical" one state steps up to set a boundary at year 3. The boundary should be nationwide k thru 12. Period.
Then there's the whole notion that "the state" can remove a dependent from a parent who interferes with that dependents selected "whim decision" for gender reversal.
The left has gone bat shit crazy over the edge in regards to what they deem appropriate enforable actions in the parent/dependent relationship while supporting transgender "rights".
The left wants to culturally own young people and remove them from traditional cultural influences for thier own purposes. This is thier future voting block because they cant get elected on history of policy effectiveness.

I've been having enough problems intermittently through the years with schools who are teaching math and science to my dependents.
And then the politics wrapped into history by a few teachers.
Remember these words...
"Those who can, do. Those who cant teach."

Plus, those two situations are unrelated. Society doesn't have a role to play or condone/not condone in the privacy of your home. It may well be abhorrent, but that is the beauty of the free society (so far) we choose to live in. That is, as long as those abhorrent beliefs do not infringe on someone else's constitutional rights (also the child's).
Once we go down the road of punishing what one person/group finds bigoted, abhorrent there really is no going back. Who gets to decide what thoughts are not welcome? You? Twitter mob? That is the road to totalitarianism.

I agree. The problem is that most of the 'teachers' don't know anything about math or the sciences yet are supposed to teach it.
Most of them got a 'teaching degree' because it's an easy degree to get and they wanted a job that they only had to do for 9 months out of the year.
