Obviously gun control does not work.
Better start controlling the bad guys.

The Rifle
The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of it's own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes. But there are more good men than evil, and while the latter can not be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.

I say ban cars, they cause more deaths each year than do any kind of firearm.
At minimum, License them like guns.
You want to take your car out of your garage, to use in public, you must be re-certified every 2 years to use. And, to buy gas, you have to sign a federal registration & log in and document every gallon of gas purchased.
After all, if we can save just one life!

The gun laws did not get passed easy. Took bodies to get the ball rolling, and more bodies to get it passed.

"The suspect, described by police as a man of heavy build, wearing a green construction-type vest and hooded sweatshirt, remained at large several hours after the shooting...."
I bet he ditched the green vest and hoodie by now.
I'm going out on a limb to guess that who ever this guy is he has a rap sheet, was a violent criminal, and was recently released by a Progressive official.

Tijuana is the murder capital of the world.
The process for a citizen in Mexico to acquire a gun is insanely complicated. So essentially only the cops and criminals have guns. (Oh and their president is softer on crime than DeBlasio.) It's the Left's dream come true.

Not really, there are tons of restrictions and prohibitions that have been enacted in Kalifornia very easily
It's the steady Chineese torture of drip drip drip, the left whittles away bit by bit, slowly eroding the ability to defend one's self and family.
Califonria tells you which guns you are permitted to buy, there is no free market here.
Take one manufacture - the popular Glock. You can't buy the latest 5th generation models - or even the last 4th generation, only 3rd genration (introduced over 20 years ago), and likely to be discontinued.
Guns fall off the roster all the time - restricting freedom.
Normal magazines, you can't buy them here.
You have to register to buy ammuition.
You can't take your guns out of your home (few exceptions to that)
Limit on number able to be purchased.
I could go on & on, but the point is, gun restrictions are passed easily here.
One of the reasons gun advocates are so defiant, is the gun controll folks are fanatical.

You've watched too many movies, smoke screens won't obfuscate you completely.
If the guy sitting next to him had a CCW, and he (or she) sees the guy setting off smoke bombs, and then pullling out a gun - that CCW holder would be able to articulate on the witness stand that they were in fear of their life and thus killed the bad guy.
I used to ride a subway daily for many years - people on subways might look like they aren't paying attention, but they are, enough crazys out there - especially in NYC, even a guy at the other end of the subway car would see the crazy at the other end.
But this is NY, where lawful gun owners get arrested by merely flying through NY on a layover due to the crazy restrictive gun laws there.
Would have a CCW holder been able to save people? I don't know, but NY has VERY restrictive gun laws - and so the only thing people can do is wait for the medics to arrive, police are useless after the fact. Best they can do is take pictures.
