The Preppers say get out of the big cities. When shit really hits the fan, will it be to late ?

RussianDoll, don't leave LA. Stand your ground.
Pack some heat, snub nose, nothing less than 45. Where a mask to and from your office. If anyone comes near you, put one in his chest. Don't run, walk away slowly. Take the bus home. Your car wouldn't start, think of the rest.
That's what it will take to stop crooks from running rampant. Who cares, they don't count.
Don't fear God, he forgives. You didn't kill some rat fink, you just stopped him from murdering the next guy. See, you just did a good deed.
Now 2 or 300 more situations like this, and crooks will get the idea.
Remember, we never had this conversation, mmmkay!

I left LA last year in Dec. Now I'm just south of FTWorth.
I was born and raised in LA but enough was enough.
My quality of living is so much better...more money in my pockets and owning a gun is no issue here...best decision I ever made.
|
|
P.S. Oh ...and the chicks are HOT.
|

OC would be happy to have you.

SeymourButz, Your advice will land anyone who takes it in prison for murder.
Remember the laws in California are not on the side of the LEGAL gun owner.

https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2022-04-12/17-gangs-targeting-los-angeles-mega-rich
The area with the most robberies during that time was the LAPD’s Hollywood Division, with 50, followed by 46 in the Wilshire Division and 40 in the Central Division, which includes downtown. The Pacific Division had 17, West L.A. 15, North Hollywood 14 and Topanga 11.

Sheriff VN could clean it up but LA city hates the guy..
|

LA is such a shithole
And I used to love to go there
More interesting than OC
But not if you get raped, pillaged and murdered
Oh and cornholed and fuck-buggered too
|

OC will welcome you. There's an overall higher class of people in the OC as well.
But don't come down here and vote Democrat. That's the reason L.A. is so fucked up.

Those fucking idiots already took over
Fat fuck Katie "Cunt" Porter???
|
|
😮
|
|
Melrose (and the area around Fairfax) has cool and edgy shops that attract a lot of people, and some of those people aren't exactly desirable.
That area is known to have a weird mix of affluence, artists, and deplorables....
And different parts of Melrose are totally different: Melrose around La Cienega is much nicer than around La Brea.
And of course Goebbels would hate Katie Porter. Insecure men can't handle smart women.

I love oc. Quality vs quantity 😉
|
|
@amusing:
Yeah, Porter is smart because she went to Harvard?
I bet you called George W. Bush an idiot...and he went to Harvard AND Yale!
The reality is that Porter is 100% behind policies that took America from 2% inflation to 8.5% inflation in just 18 months, and saw gas prices nearly double nationwide.
Yep, she's a smart one. Just like that Puerto Rican twat from NY that is a socialist and has an economics degree from Boston U???
Dumbfucks...all of 'em!

So many haters! Personally I love Los Angeles. Been to a lot of places and lived in a few others but I always come back to LA. Southern Cal for life.
|

LA is not Socal life. LOL
|

@yellowB2
Which policies are you referring to that increased inflation? Be specific.
|
|
And I find it to be interesting that people are simply ignoring the asshole who used racist slurs needlessly in this blog.
Ladies, take notes on who the deplorables are on this site. I can’t imagine you’d be comfortable seeing someone filled with hate.

It's going to get much worst!
The goal is the great reset... "You will own nothing and you will be happy" - Klaus Schwab
The dismantling of the current structure has to appear "organic"
- Mass homelessness because of inequality.
- Soft on crime because of racial injustice.
- Low education rates because of inequity.
- Green New Deal brings high inflation.
They need to destroy the middle and working class to do this.
|
|
OP,
OC is probably better than LA at this point in time. However, when I hear the complaints and stories on Nextdoor coming out of Newport Beach, etc I don't think those areas are safe either. If you are looking for safety, you might want to consider a remote area in California or more likely want to move out of state.
|
|
@Tabie
OC loves you too... you have many fine qualities,
|
|
@mildlyamusing1, I'll answer your question about inflation. It was mainly
caused by all the stimulus money the government printed that no one earned.
Now with high gas prices caused by Biden policies to go green and inflation,
consumers are now cutting back on spending which is leading to a recession
by this summer.
More misery to come, unfortunately.
Oh yeah, the Fed plans to continue to increase interest rates in an attempt
to control inflation. But that also means that businesses will not borrow
money for expansion.
Some call it Bideneconomics.
Way to go Dems, you'll probably get your butts kicked in Nov.
|
|
BTW, I read that L.A. county's population has been dropping by 1% each yr., since 2018.
Smart people know that there are greener pastures in the mid-west.

I agree with John Long: I love Los Angeles.
I work in Hollywood. I see folks of all colors cutting up. I am worried about the lack of mental health resources. I find all the tents lined up on Sunset heartbreaking.
A person is more likely to be harmed by someone they know than by a complete stranger. Keep pumping up the faceless ethnic bogeyman while being oblivious to the person you see every day plotting against you.
|
|
Depends on what neighborhood.
I know blocks in Inglewood that have gone from “3rd world” to great places to live, and blocks that have tumbling down the social cliff (Santa Monica).
Same in OC.

all the color blindness comments...right.
lmao

Funny how people forget about all the Trump stimulus money.

Here are a few thoughts:
One of the reasons why I love LA so much is its racial diversity. I’ve lived in Boston and Chicago, and the people in LA are much nicer and the racial mix is much more enjoyable. I divide my time now between LA and OC, and I prefer LA much more.
Los Angeles still has a shortage of 200,000 homes, so any fluctuation in population is likely due to other factors. You know people want to live in LA when a house has 20 offers in its first week on the market.
Trash of every color, including white, can be dangerous.
The current inflationary period was caused by the pandemic, including imports of goods slowing down creating greater demand for fewer goods (which raises prices). Add to that the war in Ukraine that limited the supply of oil, which also drove up prices across all market sectors.
All of this sparked corporate greed where companies in even unaffected sectors saw the opportunity to raise prices as well. Most companies are seeing record profits in 2021 and 2022. Oil companies are some of the worst offenders. Biden wants to heavily tax opportunistic companies that are taking advantage of the situation at the expense of consumers, which he should.
Here’s an example: the CEO of Chipotle received over $36 million in bonuses (his base salary is $1.24 million) because of the chain’s record earnings and profits, but blamed rising menu prices on inflation and the $0.50 increase in hourly wages. Complete bullshit.
China is in lockdown again because the vaccines they developed don’t work against Omnicron. That will likely create even more inflation because of supply shortages.
Lastly, one of the only tools that the Fed has to slow down inflation is to increase interest rates, which does slow down corporate investment. But with unemployment at only 3.6%, the negative effects should be muted while controlling rising prices. Again, corporate greed should be punished, which should lower inflation as well.

The OC is the center of the universe. If you are smart, you will come...
You can live every day where everyone else in the world wants to visit on vacation
|

“ The OC is the center of the universe.”
Wow. That must be the first time anyone has ever even thought of something so ridiculous.
|

i heard its boring in OC lol
just be driving ..n driving... n driving...

yeah like the young UCLA student Brianna Kupfer who was working and going to school - living her best life, she was stabbed to death by a piece of scum who never aspired to do or become anything... those are the POS beings in LA who will turn LA into Haiti.
All the wealthy people who voted dem - now they are getting chased by these elements to steal their riches carried on their person, watches, jewelry - home invasions etc.
Its going downhill real quick.

I moved out of LA and never looked back
The homeless problem is ridiculous, traffic sucks and the people are just rude
I'd come to visit but not to live unless I lived in like Beverly hills or something
When it comes to hosting in LA. The guys are very hit or miss where as you get more reliable people in OC

I love LA. My favorite city in the world. Lived in OC and San Diego for quite a while. Nice places, but way too slow for me. LA is by no means perfect, but by far the best city on the west coast for sure. Just my 2 cents.
|
|
even if voted republican, theyll still rob and murder
not gonna change that, but it helps a bit
do u think lawless cares who ppl vote for they dont follow politics
|

@June.Moon
Thank you for confirming what I was thinking, the men are hit and miss.
I'm tired of flakers and cancellations
|

LA has too many cockroaches.
Orange County has too many pussies.
I found San Diego has just the right amount of both to live there comfortably. That"s why I moved to Humbolt.

@VeryMildlyAmusing
Biden as signed trillions in spending and budget increases, including the unnecessary $1.2 trillion infrastructure/green energy bill and a $1.9 trillion spending bill. Instead of practicing moderation after COVID and the massive government spending and debt which was amassed fighting the pandemic, Biden doubled down. And every economist knows that when the government prints/spends money it doesn't have, it fuels inflation.
The Biden spending bill also included extended a federal program that paid people not to work for months, as unemployment was at historic lows, and businesses were forced to close or reduce work hours, due to a lack of workforce. This has created and still fuels supply chain issues and shortages of products across all sectors. Shortages = increased prices (inflation).
Wanna talk about fuel? The left talking point is "Blame Putin." But that is bullshit and you all know it. The truth is that after Biden was elected, gas prices immediately started rising. In January 2021, the average price in the US was $2.25/gal. To blame Putin is a sham and a diversion. Russia did not even invade Ukraine until February 24, 2022. In January, 2022, the average price of a gallon of gas in the US was 3.34, increasing during the Biden Administration by $1.09/gal, or 48.44% in just 13 months! Putin and Russia had NOTHING to do with that!
In California, the gas prices rose from $3.36 in 01/21 to $4.58 in 01/22, an increase of $1.22/gal or 36.31% in just 13 months!
But who cares about gas prices? You do! Because not only is the price of gas high, but everything you buy is transported to the marketplace by petroleum fuels. Ships from Asia and elsewhere? Diesel. From the port or train depot? Diesel trucks. From the Amazon warehouse to your door? Gasoline. From the warehouse to the store? Diesel truck. From the port to other locations before distribution? Diesel locomotive. And what are you buying? Products made with petroleum -- Plastics, chewing gum, clothing, lipstick, dentures, rugs, shampoo, solar panels, toothpaste, and thousands of other products are made from petroleum. So higher prices for manufacture, higher prices to transport from the factory to the marketplace, and combined with labor shortages and higher labor costs caused by Biden policies -- higher prices across the board for everything! That's inflation. And it sucks bad for everyone, but disproportionately hurts poor people the most!
That's just a few particulars. There are dozens more.

FUCK YES THE LAWLESS CARE! Have you ever heard of a guy named George Gascon? He's a democrat. Also the current district attorney for Los Angeles County.
And what do you get with Gascon?
On his first day in office on Dec. 20, 2020, Gascon announced major changes to prosecution of crimes in Los Angeles, calling the criminal justice system “fundamentally broken.”
The Democrat promised to “usher in a new era of criminal justice and transform the largest criminal justice jurisdiction in America.”
On his first day in office on Dec. 20, 2020, Gascon announced major changes to prosecution of crimes in Los Angeles, calling the criminal justice system “fundamentally broken.”
For Gascon, a maximum of 15 years is an adequate sentence regardless of the crime committed. That would apply to the Richard Ramirez's of the world (Night Stalker), the Scott Peterson's, the Charles Manson's, murderers, rapists, [youthfully challenged] molesters, mahem, attempted murder, arson, torture, terrorism, drug trafficking, and cruelty to animals.
Gascon has removed all criminal enhancements.
Gascon will never seek the death penalty.
Gascon will never seek a prosecution for life, or a "25 years to life" sentence, no matter the crime.
Gascon believes that all persons should be released from custody pending trial, with ZERO bail.
I live in Orange County where Todd Spitzer is the DA. If I were a criminal, I would relocate the LA County, or in the alternative I would commit all of my crimes there.

WHAT AN IDIOT!
Inflation is quite simply too much money chasing too few goods and that's what you get when both Trump and Biden spend all that money (fiscal policy) at the same time the Fed is pumping out the cash (monetary policy).
MA blogs almost as well as he understands economics.........fuck'n moron
Biden's approval rating now in the low 30's, 26% among independents..........can anybody say wipe out at the next election
Looks like my prediction of 4% mortgages was way off, they're at 5% now.........that'll fix your too few homes on the market real quick.

@veryyellowB2
Seems like you enjoy believing (and repeating) Republican builshit:
Number 1: Infrastructure spending reduces inflationary pressure. Look at the attached article from the American Action Forum, a center-right organization (see linked article).
Number 2: I was going to buy oil futures in early 2021 when oil was around $40/barrel because many experts predicted that oil would reach $100/barrel. What happened in 2021 besides Biden coming into office? The pandemic was loosing up, people were staying at home rather than going to work, and with people actually driving to work, the prediction would be that demand would rise sharply (which it did). Increased demand equals increased oil prices. The war in Ukraine made things even worse.
I understand that simple political explanations give you a warm and fuzzy feeling, especially when they are packaged nicely for you by the GOP, but the increase in oil prices and inflation in general are not Biden's fault. Information accuracy isn't in the GOP's best interests. Like last week when Fox News doctored video's of Biden to make him look confused when Obama visited the White House (see linked article). Conservatives have become a pathetic joke. When you can't win legitimately, they just cheat and lie to their stupidly gullible and misinformed conservative base.
Back to LA: just like with everything else, LA isn't perfect. Its homeless issue needs to be solved and it's expensive and will likely get more expensive. But I love it here and I also enjoy OC, but I like the people in LA and its character more.

Woah the racists sure did come out in this thread 😩

Racists are insecure people who need to demonize and blame others for their pathetic lives.
There are good and bad, smart and dumb, kind and harmful people in every race, religion, and society. Sweeping generalizations are inaccurate and meant to be hurtful.
