I'm a capitalist. I have no issue with anyone owning it, as long as they do it legally. If Musk wants to leverage his Tesla holdings to do it, good for him. I'd love to see twitter become the troll outlet it once was.

I think you can pretty much count on the entire board, the ceo and almost everyone else who aligns with those idiots to be gone. Musk hates the board and ceo and has talked about how mismanaged the platform is. He's also come out and said he hopes his biggest critics stay on the platform - sounds like he likes people who disagree with him and, if not open to their ideas is at least open to hearing them.
I doubt he's ever going to take space x public, he's already come out and said he doesn't like public ownership cause it takes away the freedom of what he wants to do.
If he takes twitter private it won't be back on the market.

There is no ignoring the historical symmetry of Athens defeating Persia and Ukraine defeating Russia. A little democracy defiant against an autocratic giant is the stuff of legend, of hope, of belief that there is good and there is bad. But Athens had slaves. Persia had freedom of religion (as long as you paid your taxes). Democracy is tyranny more diffused.
Elon Musk wants a twitter of free speech. That is only a freedom of the strongest bully on the playground. Which is no freedom at all for posterity. So why does democracy seemingly always win? Despite its contradictions like favoring the weak over the strong and capitalism over equality? I think about this constantly. The founding fathers hated democracy so they made a republic. And they promoted the constitution in the federalist papers under pseudonyms, much like twitter. But with more words. And intellect. Freedom inculcates responsibility. Responsibility builds character. Character builds strength.
Democracy does not win wars because it is a stronger idea but because it creates stronger individuals. Democracy incorporates imperfection as its modus vivindi. It tells us to live and fail and succeed and hate and love without scorn for anyone or anything but ourself. Real democracy means responsibility to defend freedom and not to use the word freedom as a PR pitch to buy a company or invade a country. Because they are both the same substantially.

A friend of mine is an engineer for Tesla - Musk pays VERY well and there are a lot of perks. So I doubt he'll have any trouble getting talented people to replace those he kicks to the curb whether there are stock options or not.

I’m mixed about this. Musk is an innovator and pays well to get to the top, and this is a good investment. However, not sure if his ideas about politics and free speech will turn rancid on Twitter and make the company fall apart. I already know a few but jobs with too much money and free time who want to fuck things up online, and have hired actual staff to do it once the safeties come off.
