Dividing the US and NATO has been the objective of Putin (and by extension Trump) for years now. In Putin's case, decades. Dividing Americans along racial lines has been the Republican agenda since the Southern Strategy was employed in the mid-60s.
Knowing your history accurately allows people to put facts in their proper perspective and recognize bullshit misinformation when they read it.
