Anyone that says one side is racist and the other isn’t drank the kool-aid. Too many people and politicians are trying to divide the country with this crap. We do have an economic system that thrives off divisions among those who it controls. And white supremacy remains the dominant ideology of the United Ststes.
That being said I do not believe the US is a racist country as far as the people of this country are concerned. I do believe that most Americans have a democratic spirit and sense of fair play. Look at the civil rights movement, how do much of the country embraced it. Look at how we often work side by side in harmony with all races. Look at the outcry against police violence with the Floyd verdict and the conviction of those who killed the black man in the South who was out for a jog . Look st the multi racial protests for Black Lives Matter. Look at how so many cheered and welcomed a black President. And while we as a people. do make racist mistakes from time to time we are not a racist people and by extension not a racist country .
We do have a ways to go as far as the struggle for equality but don’t count out the American people.

So let's be clear... Slavery existed in many parts of the world and especially Africa for 100's if not 1000's of years. Also, North American indigenous Indians did not exactly live in full peace and harmony before European's arrived.
Although Amerca was not "free of slavory" when it was founded It is the case that America moved towards the abolishment of slavery.
The revisionist history involved with the 1619 project want people to beleive that the colonization of North America was completely centered around the exploitation of slaves.
The early colonists were fleeing religious persecution. They didnt wake up one day saying "hey let's go to the new world so we can own slaves!"

The tendency in some quarters is to racialise everything. The danger in this approach is that to move forward in this country, be we black, Latino, white etc we must stand together in solidarity.. Solitsrity against a system that exploits so many of all races. That is why woke culture misses the point as it tends to divide us with talk of anti racism etc. To achieve equality for any one race we all need to stand together against the centers of power. And not fight each other.

When in American history did American refugees flooded neighboring countries to escape war, famine, poverty, racism, discrimination, and persecution? The answer is never. Most of us are aware of the fact that people from all over the world want
to come to the USA. I'm sure Jimbo knows that Biden is allowing them

just to be in the USA.
Many Americans are subjected to racism in this country, but many figure out
how to deal with it and move on.
