Also this is (the main reason) why I left Los Angeles, and CA in general. I wouldn't be surprised if they start shutting businesses down again at some point. Some of us need to get on with our lives, and not be stuck on this forever. It's probably hard to understand if the shutdowns don't really affect you, but it's been devastating to some people. Enough.

If you want to avoid getting COVID, it is probably a good idea to wear a good comfortable mask around people indoors at this time, whatever some health group says. I can recommend the 3M Aura 1870 N95. Extremely well fitting and comfortable, can pull it down when it is not necesssary to wear. Feels like almost wearing nothing at all.

With all due respect, this advice is politically based and not in your interest if you have risk factors for a severe case of COVID or risk factors for long COVID.
Fuck what others think. Wear a good yet comfortable mask (e.g. 3M Aura N95) indoors in crowded public areas if you want to reduce the number of times you get COVID.
Make sure you continue to take boosters (which hopefully will be updated soon) to improve your immunity.
Take Paxlovid should you come down with COVID.
Keep up to date with changing information.

California elects the absolute worst government Masks? Just as the requirement of vaccination to enter the US is lifted. Makes sense. Neither work. Just like you can stop the waves with a chain link fence. The particle size of the virus is 100 microns. The very best mask the surgeons can get stop particles down to 300 microns.
There wasn't a single safety or efficacy study done on these dangerous injections. Think about that. The FDA ok'd something with the potential for a new disease. Next time someone tries to defend these masks and vaccines, you can be sure they are uneducated on the subject. By the time some people wake up their life work will be worthless. We will all be in trouble when the US can't pay the debt for all their entitlements. Allowing rioting will gut the country.

Surgeons do wear masks to prevent their respiratory droplets from contaminating the surgical field and the exposed internal tissues of their surgical patients, Of course, we are talking droplets, NOT microscopic viral particles. Big difference.

At yesterday's press conference Dr. Barbara Ferrer of Los Angeles County Public Health announced that (almost certainly) she will issue the order for people to resume wearing masks indoors two weeks from today, July 29, 2022.
She also said that BA.5 (Omicron subvariant) is escaping immunity. Even if people got vaccinated and got sick with the original Omicron (BA.1) six months ago, BA.5 will probably make them sick again.
