It’s about a blonde girl and her family’s experience on the Oregon Trail.
It stars faith hill and her husband Tim McGraw and other big stars.
I usually don’t watch tv series but it was so good I couldn’t shut it off….
I did research on the Oregon Trail after watching it and it blows my mind how life was back then.
If you like western movies, like Tombstone, definitely watch 1883.
You can thank me later!
So True, wasn't a big fan of Yellowstone TV Series but 1883 was great and heartbreaking. There's also another series about the Dutton Family called 1932 with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren which should be epic too...
I started watching Yellowstone but idk I couldn’t really get into it. I only saw an episode or two so maybe I need to give it more time.
N no I didn’t wiki the Oregon Trail lol however I did watch a shit ton of YouTube videos on it. I spoke to a few knowledgeable people who explained things in further detail.
I learned all about the Donner Party….. freaked me the fuck out….couldn’t sleep anyway so what the hell, right?
There is an interesting book out about two brothers (the Buck brothers) who set out with with a team of mules to retrace the Oregon Trail in modern times. It is a harrowing journey and very interesting. A true story. Fittingly it is called the Oregon Trail.
Really enjoyed 1883 - havent yet gotten into yellowstone, mostly due to the unavailability of streaming sources.. at least those i subscribe.
instead got into Outer Range - its sort of strange show, it has the western culture and then it has a twist of scifi - weird stuff but entertaining, reminds me a little of twin peaks back in the day, maybe not quite that weird but still..
Typical over-wrought period drama piece.
It did make me want to do some research though, here's what I found..........
Out of 20,000 - 30,000 deaths over a 20 year period ending in the 1880's on the wagon trains.........
about 400 deaths were attributed to Indians, lol............5% or less
Almost everything else was hygiene and accident related
So this 1883 was a lot of bullshit, some true but a lot of over-exaggeration
The Indians should be suing the producer
Frankly, his other movies were a LOT better
Wind River
Hell or High Water
Sicario
Tyler Sheridan is a crappy actor but very good writer and loves his cowboy shit, lol
Oh, and the Indians should be suing over that BS about dipping their arrows in shit, haha
Didn't happen, didn't need to happen
Everything was so fucking dirty back then, sepsis would kill you in no time no matter what
Seriously, it's like that Jerry West thing, these fucking writers just make shit up and then the players have to sue the shit out of the producers/writers.........
If all the tribes got together and started suing hollywood for all the revisionist history they put in their movies & tv series we'd be in court for 1000 years.
And it'd just be a waste of time. Most of the 'history' is complete bullshit but 'history is written by the victors' so a lot of it's wrong.

Interesting pix of LA back in the early 1900's
Same fucking drought shit as today as 100 years ago
The dam blows out and carries more than 400 bodies to the Pacific
Great stuff, lol
Yes, 1883 is getting another season – but it’s not as simple as a Season 2.
1883 is technically followed by 1923, a sequel series also taking place before the events of Yellowstone. The show will also live on via 1883: The Bass Reeves Story, chronicling the life of the “legendary lawman”, as per TV Line.
The Yellowstone universe is growing even more with another spinoff titled 6666, which will revolve around the Four Sixes Ranch in West Texas.
As for a direct follow-up to 1883, Sheridan said he “wanted to make a ten-hour movie that ended, and that’s what we did”, so don’t expect one in a hurry.
loved it...loved the girl (which always makes watching anything better)
