The Senate approved the Supreme Court Protection Bill 100-0....that fucking NEVERS happens. There is always some outlier who will vote against something.

Man don't even bother arguing second amendment to idiots who cannot comprehend the fact that at the time the 2nd amendment was written the most powerful weapons on earth were legal for anyone to own. So to say that the founders never meant .... take your pick .... is to assume that they thought that nothing more destructive would ever be made. I don't believe that to be the case.
All that being said ... you idiots want to impose restrictions on firearms ... start an effort to repeal the 2nd amendment... see how far that gets ya.

Creating more laws won't stop bad people from doing bad things. Gun control measures are a cheap fix meant to appease the masses who are either too lazy or unable to critically think about the underlying causes of violence.
The politicians dont want to do the hard work to root out the problem. The problem isn't a gun, or a knife, or a car, or a club....the problem is people. People with illnesses and no system to treat them. A highly medicated population who's reality is grounded in twitter feeds, instagram posts, Facebook likes, and one sided messaging from the mainstream media outlets (all of them). And when these people decide to snap, they won't bother to consult the penal code before they do.
Demand that your politicians stop with the smokescreen measures and get to work on the real issue.

The reason 88% of Americans want background checks is because none of them know that background checks are already mandatory in all 50 states. People who dont read laws for themselves have been led to believe that background checks do not happen, because this is the false narrative the media feeds you on a daily basis....and you slurp it down like a porn actress.
Anyone who has ever tried to buy a gun from a gun store knows that you must fill out a Form 4473, Firearms Transaction Record, and your information is run through NICS (National Instant Criminal Background Check System) which is maintained by the FBI. You cannot take possession of the gun until the response comes back from the FBI on the dealers computer saying you are clear.
Most people who support this catchy talking point dont even realize background checks ALREADY exist for everyone buying a gun from a licensed dealer.

I think we can agree that our fore fathers couldnt anticipate the advancements in fire arms technology.
But I'll go out on a limb to suggest that they didnt specify types of guns allowed for general ownership because they wanted to avoid a situation where the 2nd Amendment allowed for the governed to be completely outgunned by the government.
