If you film/record/photograph a model/performer and do not have ID and a release... it's against the law. This isn't just OF, this is any adult content produced literally anywhere in the US. Just the ID image in the database for 2257 compliance. 2257 does not require a release, it only requires that an identifiable image of the performer HOLDING their government issued ID with their age/birthdate clearly showing, and that image must be in the 2257 database of images/videos along with all versions of the final product as distributed.
So, the "fed shot" or "shoot the 22" refers to the talent holding their license next to their face, and a still image taken, before the scene is even shot.
