The Dems finally woke up and realized we don't have enough water in California.
|
|
It's a good idea.

Its a great idea. But we have to get to a crisis and run out of water for our stupid politicians to do something.

San Diego is so strapped for water that if we have another dry winter I think that home prices are going to drop big time. First off, the press will beat the subject into the ground - then people that are thinking about moving will say, "Why would anyone want to move to California? They don't have enough water for the people that are already there!" Since the supply is fairly fixed right now, the supply/demand curve will favor lower prices.

Brought this dead blog back 2 months later
All for a "yep"?
WTF Marty?

@Jazz:
The dems don't give a flying fuck if we have enough water or not.
The almond industry -- it takes a gallon of water to grow one almond. And the almond industry consumes as much water each year as every residential home in the state! But it continues because the almond industry has lobbyists...and We the People don't. Do We the People need Water? Or do we need almonds? The California democrats answer to that question is clear.
The California democrats are building a $60 billion bullet train that no one wants or will use, but their crony contractors and insiders are making hundreds of millions on the real estate deals and the construction.
That $60 billion would have built enough desalination plants up and down the coast to supply 100% of the residential water requirements for the entire state! Just think -- toilets that actually flush, no more low flow shower heads, green lawns, full swimming pools and fountains, and not having to ask for water at your favorite restaurant - they just bring it!
A private group just tried to build a desal plant here in OC, HB specifically. It would have supplied almost 25% of the residential water needed for the entire county. It was rejected by the Coastal Commission and other government agencies. Why?
Well, the spokeshole who answered the question said, "We're not opposed to desalination plants, but it has to be the right project. And this was not the right project."
TRANSLATION: "Our crony contractors and developers are not involved in this project, and are not lining their pockets and kicking us back our share. And you outsiders are not getting a skin in this game...so take a hike and screw you to the citizens too. We run this show. So shut up and take it."

Desalination process takes in sea water and all the plankton, various microscopic sea life including their fertilized eggs and kills everything that supports sea life. The water they put back into the ocean is brackish high in salinity which has no oxygen. The area where this water in put back into ocean creates dead zones. These desalination take in sea water with all the life then dumps warm salt water with almost no oxygen. I forgot the chemicals used in the process that have to be dumped somewhere.
Yeah we can do it but it's not worth the negative effects. Killing all the sea life to make water makes no sense. I'd rather gather rain water and replenish aquifers.

I'm currently watching porno so my weiner is getting major expansion at the moment.

Every choice has positives and negatives. in 1979 we had about 23 million people in CA. Now, we have 40 million and we haven't built one large scale water storage structure in that time period. We passed Prop 1 in 2014, to allocate $2.7 billion to new water storage projects. How many have been built....Yep not a single one.
We need to bring something on line soon. But we also need to close the border as we keep allowing more people to come illegally and those people require water and electricity that we do not have.

I'll just leave this here.......
How many desalination plants does Israel have?
It operates 31 desalination plants treating nearly a million cubic meters of seawater and brackish water every day. The company's eight wastewater treatment plants, including the Dan Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant, treat 40% of all Israel's wastewater.
By the way.....what's rain?
Anybody got a clue?

"What's rain?"
