MX - what does a young woman living below the poverty level in the middle of Texas do? “Just go to another state” may be an easy thing to you, but there are plenty of women for whom that is not the case. Beyond that, this ruling strips women of bodily autonomy. A woman must surrender her body to a developing embryo, but you can’t take an organ from a dead corpse unless the person expressly gave permission to do so before they died. Do you not see how fucked up that is? Imagine if the law of the land said you must donate a kidney or bone marrow if somebody wants it. You have no say in the matter. That’s basically what’s going on here.

You do realize that even Ruth Bader Ginsburg opined back in the 90's that she thought Roe v Wade was wrongly decided and would likely be overturned at some point.

Most of you have already mentioned this but I would like to add more.
I have a personal belief on the issue which I will not disclose.
Following the Constitution......
1. The decision was correct. The landmark case Roe v Wade does NOT cite ANYTHING from the Constitution to back up that case. NOTHING.
2. There is NOTHING in the Const giving someone this right. And it clearly states in Const what is not spelled out specifically then will be left up to each individual state.
3. Which means this is TRUE democracy or really small r republicanism. The US is NOT a democracy but we are a republic. Where we elect people to perform our will. A democracy is that each of us vote on all issues. That is the major difference btw the two forms of government.
Soooo now this goes back to each state and THEY get to perform THEIR constitutional duties on this issue. And if YOU do or do not like what they propose. YOU get to vote them out of office.
That my friends is how the framers intended our country to work.
Not to have 9 UN ELECTED people make laws.
And BTW since I am on this topic. There is NOTHING in the Const about PRIVACY. Just one of many things SCOTUS invented and made law.
PPS And if you do not like the Const there is a mechanism to CHANGE IT. Its in the Const.....go ahead and read it for yourself.

If the SCOTUS was packed with fundamentalist Muslims and not Christians this would be about wearing burkas or making education illegal for women.
