Nothing new or global conspiracy about this. Been talked about for years. With the dollar as a standard currency for international trade, those countries are at risk of US sanctions cutting off trade, like is happening with Russia right now, simply because payments flow through the US banking systems.
So, they're trying to change that, it's only natural. They may or may not be successful.

Foreign Powers talked about this back when we invaded Iraq and the threat of World War 3 happening. Of course it never got that kind of coverage in the States, but I was abroad at that time and economic idealists thought maybe the 2 year old Euro would replace the dollar with a boost from developed nations .
