There was even legal battles over local gun control that went all the way to SCOTUS but wasnt heard. See attached story.
And with regards to abortion... SCOTUS just ruled that the govt CANT tell women they can/cant have an abortion and sent it to the states.
The left has NOTHING to campaign on going into midterms except Jan 6th, abortion, and mass shootings.
It's quite eery that Highland Park just paid tribute to Uvalde victims a few days ago.

Mortars are banned in California and all fireworks in Los Angeles and yet the skies were lit up all evening. I can imagine the same effect on guns, the only thing banning guns has done is change the status of law abiding citizens to felons.

It's not that difficult, it's the guns. It's not only the guns for sure but it's the guns.
How to fix it? Who knows but maybe require a test, liability insurance, a license, raise the minimum age to 21, background checks, 48 hr cooling off periods etc. There's rarly a single silver bullet but should we do nothing?

Highland Park has gun control? Oh my God. No single place in this country has "gun control" so long as you can walk into any gun show and purchase a gun. Local ordinances against guns have zero effect, and you know it. It's simply an empty talking point for people looking to reinforce an already held belief.
All people are trying to create these days is common sense gun safety laws, and some Americans don't eve want that. No one is talking about taking your guns away.
Women can still get an abortion and have 15 weeks to decide? Sure, if you live in the right state. Many states don't even have an abortion clinic in them. Educate yourself. When you say shit like that, it's embarrassing, man.

For the thousandth time, people...STOP BEING EMOTIONAL ABOUT ABORTION AND USE COMMON SENSE.
50 years ago, the Roe v. Wade Court wrote bad law. They did not follow the constitution, rather they made abortion a political issue. While our political system and checks and balances are supposed to required that laws be made by Congress and then checked for their legality and constitutionality by the courts, the Roe Court ignored that, and made actual law from the bench. This was bad law.
The queen of the leftist courts, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, even said that Roe was bad law and one day would be overturned.
The problem with bad law? More issues come along and judges draw upon that bad law to make even more bad laws. This Court is the first in 50 years to require that we abide by our founding documents. And as things stand today, it's up to the states pursuant to the 10th Amendment the extent to which abortion will be allowed in each state.
The alternative which Democrat politicians don't like? Amend the Constitution via Article V. I am all for that. But Democrats like the easy way, not the hard way. And Article V is hard, as it should be. Democrats prefer to preach from their soap box, politicize every issue, and use it at every election cycle. They don't really care if you can legally get an abortion or not...as long as the issue will provide them with more votes...as for the hard work involved on their part, there's no time for that...they must campaign constantly and raise money for reelection. They must hold onto that power.
CONCLUSION: Roe v. Wade was bad law. The last 50 years were fake. Everyone in Washington and in the courts knew this day would come...Follow the constitution! It is our founding document and within gives us the tools to get everything we want. Politicians just need the courage to do it.

On one hand, they say that gun control in Highland Park doesn't mean shit, as long as you can buy guns anywhere else.
On the other hand, state and local governments restricting abortions in their regions will halt women from getting an abortion! Even if you can get an abortions somewhere else, it's still too restrictive and will stop abortions.
So...guns can easily cross between localities and jurisdictions...but abortions cannot.

it was unconstitutional - when you are 18 your are a citizen and have the rights as a citizen granted by the constitution.

shootings and mass murders are not confined to the US though we have many more.
personally i blame quality of life, everything handed on silver platter does not create happy people. when you work hard and accomplish stuff, that creates life energy and self respect.
