If he’s pro Russia and China, he should largely be ignored, but his speech still has some validity.
In a nutshell, we have fucked up priorities in this country.
Of course military spending is important to protect our interests and to influence all other countries by offering them support. However, we can reduce the spending to $500 billion and still achieve all that while also supporting social services and programs that improve American lives.
There should be no hungry kids in this country.
How do you get rid of abortions or make them harder to come by in half the states, yet we have no paid maternity leave and essentially no social services for newborns? We are the only developed country without paid maternity leave.
There should be universal healthcare, but we are beholden to health insurance and pharmaceutical companies that control our politicians.
Student debt is a problem because they can’t afford to have families, and thus are having fewer kids which is a problem.
The prison system, again controlled by corporations, is another horrible problem that has huge social implications.
As you know, most of the things I listed above does not affect me at all, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t give a shit about other Americans who are struggling.

sure we can reduce military spending down to 500b. it was recently ramped up a bit to get the people in service a raise...get equipment in working order, maybe get some actual ammo
so where do they cut this again...with all that is going on with china/russia/iran?
the healthcare shit will emerge at some point...i think a good starting point is taking making medicare mandatory at age 55. which could solve a lot of problems. employers would still need to pay the GOING RATE of the medicare premiums until workers reached 65. they can pay for additional coverages if they want. this will get money into the system with a healthier BASE...also covering more people with pre-existing conditions. they can see how that works...and tinker with moving the age to 52 and 50.
i had a relative with no money...have cancer and later with heart attack. the dude was taken care of...what he GOT, was probably on par with those countries giving universal care
in general, america takes care of people medically...could it be better?
student debt is a problem. paying it off is TOO easy of a solution with lots of issues. maybe they can work out a plan with some of the schools with the big endowments that charged all that money. of course, right now they are using the potential of student loans getting paid off as a form of buying election votes. it would definitely create a bigger divide in the country

Also one thing we really need is a VAT implementation. I am indifferent on UBI, but Andrew Yang's point on how USA needs a federal VAT implementation is very important. They do have a homeless problem, and some parts of China the quality of life is as bad as skid row, without the drugs and crazies, but it’s “normal” there, and with out the social stigma Westerners give extremely “poor” people.
Let me clarify:
The Chinese abhor the uneducated and the unwilling to work. Yes, a great many Chinese work under shit conditions for what we would consider “shit pay” here, but it helps them live there and the country does try to take care of them, but many Chinese have long memories and can recall when their elders were shit poor, or when someone formerly poor got a step up as someone else fell from power.

I think ordinary Chinese living in China do function like non-religious conservatives. Its somewhat similar to libertarians except that most Chinese are non-political. They are just pragmatic people. That why they love Donald Trump. They absolutely love Donald Trump, other than the fact he thinks China is the enemy instead of a longterm trade partner.
And I think Chinese are the most racists ppl on earth. They can tolerate ppl but none of them feel anyone else is superior than them. They considered the past century as simply a bleep on the radar where they temporarily lost their place on earth. "Shit happens" as ppl say in comparison to their 5000 years of history and culture.
Its only a matter of time they are back on top and everyone else kowtow to them again. That's the general mentality of the Middle Kingdom. And they are doing it instead of talking or debating about it in Congress.
How stupid is America and American Politicians you ask? All American politicians criticize how China loan money out to third world nations and doing this One Belt One Road thing. Look what US Congress and Biden just got, the BBB plan, what do you think that is? And the 600 billion NATO expansion and the 1Trillion new Marshall Plan in Europe. What do you think those are? The white version of the one belt one road plan that China created over 20 years ago. They didn't just talk, they built an international fund and bank to fund this with over a trillion dollars as backing. Now the whole world use China to build. That used to the USA when Roosevelt was president. No more.
Its rather pathetic our generation is doing compared to the Chinese. I don't think we are in any position to look down or even criticize anyone because we made our own beds. With Trump and now Biden. And pre-covid, I do regularly travel and live in various cities in China for various businesses and China is nothing like what western media tells and force feed you. It is extremely diverse in China, almost like living in different countries in different parts of China.
Chinese in China actually knows a whole lot about the rest of the world than what USA ordinary citizens know or think what others know. Its frankly embarrassing if I have to compare the two. We are just so far behind than the Chinese. And mostly the Chinese gov't leave you alone if you aren't a separatist, a religious zealot, or a political activists. Those are for the peeps who got more on their hands than needing to feed mouths on the table. And Chinese are very pragmatic. They don't waste time on wokeness or whether meritocracy is good for children or can you say gay.
So who's more free? Who cares. I care about what's better for whom at what stage of development in their respective nation? I say we are so woked and fucked that in education, child development, healthcare, infrastructure, manufacture, and stem innovations, we are fucking light years behind most civilized nations.
And China doesn't need to steal our shit anymore, in most area such as space tech, AI, quantum computing, EV, solar, alt energy, China is head and shoulder above us much like 5G. Its nationwide in China, lightening fast. But its not even established in US yet. We have not built anything 5G here. We just call it 5G but no actual function in 5G. Its fucking embarrassing. Get in an elevator or underground parking and you weakened your signals. You can travel in an underground tunnel hundreds of feet deep in China and download a whole fucking movie in between subway station stops.
That's how far we are behind. A farmer in some shit fuck village will shop on TB or BABA and get their shit the next day via UVA delivery, that's unmanned flying deliveries on small packages. Waiters aren't needed as they have robots sending out food. These are all pre-covid. To order lunch on your bullet train, you just need to scan your face at the station and your bento box of ANY local restaurant on their version of YELP will be delivered to your seat at your next stop, on a fucking train. If you get off your subway train and wanted a hot bowl of beef noodles, you can stop by a vending machine and ordered using your phone or just your face scan and by the time you get home, your noodles are at the delivery box in your building or outside your door.
That's ordinary China. Your peasant, peon, everyday bluecollar, whitecollar China. Not your Beverly Hills China on only what the gov't wants you to see. I have personally experienced all of that I just typed with pinpoint efficiency. I have never had to carry cash, not even to the local massage parlor or "hair salon spa". You tip by scanning the QR code on the provider's tag and write it off as business expense.
Get with the fucking program on what the rest of the world is capable of.
We are simply living on our past glories and using up the dividends our forefathers had built. Time is almost up so wake the fuck up. Stop worrying about China and worry about ourselves.

Write to your representative to have Nike, Apple, Samsung, Dell, HP, to stop these practices by forcing others to work slave hours then. And then the next time you shop, stop complaining on how fucking expensive everything is.
I personally know the higher ups at Foxconn, if Apple decides to bring back its manufacturing to USA, each iphone will need to at the very minimum increase pricing by 250% while also decreasing sales volume due to lack of labor and raw material resources. That means retail at 2500 a pop.
If you are ok with that, go ahead, keep on criticizing China.
