We could sure benefit from a lot of those in CA!

the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun.

The Rifle
The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes. But there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.

You have heard that it was said, you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy, but I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Jesus something. I can not remember what his last name is. Google it.

I expected the personal attack.
Note that these right wingers can’t win on the merits of the argument, so they resort to bullying and personal attacks.

Please move to a red state so you can have all the guns you want.

I’m all for having paid, trained guards active in shopping malls, synagogues, schools. Have as many as you need.
Just not any untrained person who didn’t need to show competency.

The United States Constitution applies in ALL 50 states, not just in the red ones...that includes the Second Amendment. So I will move when I am goddamn good and ready.

So far the police have done a good job of not releasing identities of shooter, victims, or the bystander that saved things from escalating further.
We dont need to glorify the shooter and the bystander should be protected from leftist loonies...

There were 400 armed good men outside of an Elementary in Texas who let children get murdered only a few feet away.
There will be a situation one day where a armed hero ends up being killed by police or by another armed bystander cause they were confused with the actual perpetrator.

We should abolished the police and armed everyone

According to Brett Kavanaugh, states have the right to pass a variety of gun regulations.
So find a state that fits your desire to have unlimited gun rights.
Bye.

Trespassers will be shot.
Survivors will be shot again
Due to the ammo shortage there will be no warning shots.

Save money, make the first shot count!
NBER, same guys that call recessions after they're over.
Forget the 2 qtrs in a row negative growth, that's a misnomer.
Anyhoo...........it's just one study NR, doesn't mean it's definitive.
One thing I've learned (and you should fucking know, NR), it's all about the design of the study and what data is gathered and how it's gathered and reported. Your link doesn't speak to any of that, so we really don't know the validity of this particular study, do we?
In order to get your best "bang" for the devalued buck, it's usually fine to shoot first, maybe ask a question later if you like and then let Allah do the sorting.

Great that he shot the shooter, but how do all the good guy with a gun know he is a good guy? He may have history or maybe just likes shooting people? Not sure, but people shouldn't just jump on the band wagon.

A conversation by me with a Gun Control Advocate (GCA):
GCA: "We need to stop the violence. Too many people are getting killed by guns!"
ME: "We should outlaw cars first! Twice as many people die each year in the US from car accidents that from all type of deaths cause by guns, murder, suicide, accidental, or even justified (police shootings)."
GCA: "But we need cars - we don't need guns!"
ME: "The right to bear arms is a constitutional right - driving a car isn't!"
GCA: . . . . (walks away).
|
|
They didn't have cars, and only had muskets when the amendment was made.

Redbull09, you have a very valid point. I favor BOTH the right to bear arms (responsibly) and some form of gun control. For instance, I think:
1) Any person wanting to own a handgun should be screened by a mental health professional first for a couple of reasons. a) To try and determine if this person wants to buy a handgun because they are really pissed at someone, or themselves (this is quite a bit different than trying to take someone's handgun away just because they starting taking a psychotropic drug). Things do change over time, but we can curtail the impulse to buy a gun one day and use it the next (anger manifestation), and that they would actually be able to use the handgun in self defense of themselves or others if the need arises. Owning a handgun is ridiculous if the owner is incapable of taking another life. It will only result in having the gun taken away from them and used on them! It also needlessly has a gun in the house that children might gain access to, leading to a shooting by accident.
2) Any person wanting to own a handgun should be required to take a gun safety class first, and a refresher course every 5 years. This should GREATLY curtail the accidental shooting deaths. It also takes some of the mystique out of handling and using a handgun.
3) Any person owning a handgun should be required to go the shooting range and practice (expend at least 100 rounds) once every 6 months. It is a skill that degrades without practice. Perhaps even a qualification requirement (once a year) to validate that they could actually shoot something that they intended to shoot without hitting innocent bystanders!
Simply put, if a person is not mentally sound TODAY, then they should not have easy access to a handgun TODAY. If a person is not willing to learn to use a handgun in a safe manner, and/or incapable of using it to take another life if need be, then they shouldn't have a handgun in the first place!

The gun control advocates are the same morons trying to make you by an electric vehicle.

"They didn't have cars, and only had muskets when the amendment was made."
Dude ok ... you are obviously not an 18th century tech wiz cus you believe that muskets were not capable of holding more than one fireable shot at a time. There indeed were muskets that were capable of carrying "multiple rounds" they just weren't as ubiquitous as the single shot.
The fact is you probably have just as much a problem with the single round gun as the multi round one so just stop and say get rid of all guns and let me say .... no.

This is horseshit
If anybody cared about people dying tobacco would be eliminated.
This This poison has been around for a long time since before firearms.
Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States, including more than 41,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure. This is about one in five deaths annually, or 1,300 deaths every day.
In 2020, the most recent year for which complete data is available, 45,222 people died from gun-related injuries in the U.S., according to the CDC. That figure includes gun murders and gun suicides, along with three other, less common types of gun-related deaths tracked by the CDC: those that were unintentional, those that involved law enforcement and those whose circumstances could not be determined. The total excludes deaths in which gunshot injuries played a contributing, but not principal, role. (CDC fatality statistics are based on information contained in official death certificates, which identify a single cause of death.

Oh man. The right wing Washington Post *sarcasm> says gun control is bullshit:
|
|
“They didn't have cars, and only had muskets when the amendment was made.”
The also didn’t have email, phones, mainstream media, and television when the first amendment was made. I’m sure you believe you have a right to have access to those though.

^ Dumb argument.
Freedom of speech covers any and all forms of COMMUNICATION, doesn't matter what form that takes - speech, email, phones, tv, bullhorn, screaming at the top of your lungs, blogs, vlogs, texts, photos, movies etc.
It's ALL some form of communication and communication is what the people that founded the country wanted to protect.

EXACTLY! And it was pretty clear they wanted arms on everyone too.

Nobody you actually take serious is saying to ban all guns. Jesus fucking Christ.
You need to obtain a driver’s license to drive a car. Show you can actually operate a vehicle safely. Your license can be revoked if you proved to be irresponsible.
You need to obtain car insurance to drive a car. You are priced based on your age, location and driving history.
Driving and owning a car is highly regulated and for good reason.
We are simply asking for some regulations for gun ownership.
|
|
but not to vote?
|
|
institute some basic new rules...follow the fucking existing rules on the books (put people behind bars for shooting other people and don't let em out)
if you personally can't be behind putting people behind bars for a long long time or forever...for harming and shooting people? then STFU
it's the SAME running theme for all things on the left btw

Enforcement of current laws will drop crimes where guns are used.

Nobody is trying the fuck with the good guys with getting guns.
Gun nuts are totally unreasonable.
Point: 3D printer guns and ghost guns.
Red states have no desire to address the issues with these. They want complete unrestricted access to firearms.

@Night Rider
Not so fast. I know what Bret Kavanaugh said. And I agree that no Constitutional right is without some limitation. That being said, you would like me to move so I can "own all the guns I want."
I have several issues with your statement. First, you make no qualification to the statement. For example, "so you can own all the machine guns you want" or "so you can own all of the ArmaLite Rifle Model 15s you want."
Next, what difference does it make how many guns I own? One? A hundred? Five Hundred? I can only effectively shoot one gun at a time. So it I have 10 gun safes filled to the top, what difference does it make to you? NONE.
Lastly, your statement carries with it the implication that you would like no one to own any guns at all. And to that implied statement in your silly comment, go fuck off. The Second Amendment, also incorporated by the 14th Amendment bestows the "right to keep and bear arms," both elements of which have now been affirmed by the Supreme Court. Therefore, the Feds (via the 2nd) and the States (via the 2nd and 14th) cannot interfere with said rights.
While Democrats may pass inconsequential laws about "evil features" of a rifle, because they make them look scary, their actions are ineffective. Because what do Democrats do? They politicize every issue, which is recharged for every election cycle, and used as a weapon to convince fuck heads like yourself to vote for them.
Abortion is a prime example. Roe was one of the worst decisions ever in the history of the Supreme Court (from a legal perspective), right up with Pelssy v. Ferguson and Dred Scott. Democrats had 50 years to codify abortion in some way. They did nothing. They had 50 years to amend the Constitution via Article V. They did nothing. But abortion was made into a political issue by Democrats in every single election cycle for those 50 years! And they knew it was coming...RBG even said it was bad law and that it would eventually be overturned. Yet they did nothing.
My point is that you leftists can complain all you like about our collective right to keep and bear arms. You can ineffectively regulate black rifles, pistol grip stocks, flash suppressors, etc. But when you get down to brass tacks -- trying to prohibit standard 30 round capacity magazines, excessively taxing guns and ammo to the point of unaffordability, requiring special licenses, insurance, and other requirements to purchase or own guns and ammunition, things like that interfere with the RIGHT to keep and bear arms...and will be overturned by the Court each and every time.
Unlike abortion, regulation of firearms is not fully in the hands of the states like abortion law is now. There IS a Constitutional right to "keep and bear arms." Whether you like it. Or not.
Bye yourself.

So let me ask - Would the 2nd amendment people and the non 2nd amendment people agree to something like: If you own a gun and/or before you're allowed to buy a gun - whether it's a pistol or rifle, you have to take a gun safety course that would also include some time at a gun range using the weapon you're going to buy? If you already own guns then you have to re-qualify at a range every year or other year?
Would that satisfy most?
I'm just asking cause as a gun owner I wouldn't have a problem with that kind of regulation as I go to the range anyway and it's a pretty good idea to know how to handle a gun safely before you take it home from the gun shop or where ever you buy it.
