I don't have a problem with him shutting down keystone - 2+ years ago it leaked 350k gallons on to a Sioux reservation and surrounding areas. Ruined watershed, soil etc etc. 4 states got their water from that source. All the oil company had to say was 'It's not that bad'.
If you want to run a pipeline great - take EVERY precaution you can so that won't happen again - line the pipe with an oil proof bladder etc. Cause the proposed route ran directly over the Oglala aquifer which supplies water to 8 different states and stretches from South Dakota to Texas.
So no, I have no problem shutting that down if the oil company didn't do EVERYTHING in their power to make sure a spill wouldn't happen.

The first country Trump stepped foot in as president was Saudi Arabia 4 months after being inaugurated.
Biden went over a year into his presidency.
Every president has to make this trip early in their presidency because relations in the Middle East are like a garden and if you don't pay diplomatic service to the region it will be overcome with weeds. Plus, there were probably a lot of defense industry sales cleared during this trip.

But PSQ1, by the time we got to the end of Trump's presidency, we didn't need to Saudis or OPEC because we had moved much closer to energy independence. We could tell them to drink their oil and eat their sand, since we were not held hostage by their oil supplies.
Now we have to kiss their asses once again because Joe decided to kick our oil industry in the balls and tell them, NO MORE OIL. So, guess what, no push to pursue existing leases, no new permits, no capital expenditures for new or increased capacity refineries. Joey effectively slammed the door. And now we all get to pay for his stupidity.

Instead of listening to right wing media, listen to energy corporation earnings reports instead. The last few quarters they have been clear profits outlooks are good because they are not going to increase production - OPEC nations are not either - and they are going to continue to export US produced oil to the highest bidder.
If you think Biden or anyone in the government can control what US energy companies do, you do not have a clue. If you want Biden to do something, he could nationalize US oil production and then the government will control production (i.e. price) and also control how much gets exported.

Oil demand/price was low for Trump's last couple years because of the pandemic, so not sure there is anything you can draw about who is sucking off who for oil in the world market.
Also, US energy companies have 9,137 approved permits to drill on federal and Indian land, and the oil industry could use those permits and drill, but they are not drilling because low production and high demand (post pandemic spike) means tasty profits.

Biden told his biggest donors when he launched his presidential campaign that nothing will fundamentally change. It was crystal clear that taxes on corporations and the 1% will not change, regulations will not change or increase, social programs will not be getting extra funding, etc, etc.
Biden is GOP-lIte and so is all the leadership in their party. Media are cheerleaders for both parties from full on propaganda on the right to false deity BS like Pelosi is a master legislator because she got the Affordable Care Act passed when her party had a Congress super majority and the presidency. The ACA was a gift for health insurance companies and private hospitals cooked up at a conservative think tank (Heritage Foundation) and trial run in Massachusetts by Mitt Romney when he was governor of the state. If McCain won, ACA (McCainCare) would have been the same law with a few tweaks for GOP culture wars (less women's reproductive health) in it. And right wing media and every Trumpanzee in the country would be saying it is awesome as we pay more for health care than any other developed country in the world and have millions with no insurance or are under-insured.

Reality is that there are over a dozen countries that have some form of nationalization in their energy resources including Canada, Mexico, Argentina, and Tucker's favorite Russia. Obviously, the countries that the USA government meddled in the most on behalf of our energy sector corporations (Venezuela, Iraq, Iran, Libya, etc) have the most issues.
