In my observations it really is that bad, but I don’t look to our country’s leaders. I look at my environment. I look at my neighbor. I look at how everybody I interact with daily is getting squeezed and put under pressure, and not the good kind of pressure. We have our government to blame. Even at the local level. But we also have ourselves to blame. We only got to this point because we the people let it get to this point. Too many people complacent, thinking somebody will come along eventually and will fix everything. Too many people relying on the broken system to take care of their needs, rather than resorting to their own wits and gifts to find solutions. The power still belongs to the people, but not enough people exercising their power.
The way I see it we have strength in numbers. How’s that saying go again? Bad things happen when good people fail to act?
The media outlets have done a bang up job dividing us and pitting us against each other. We can disagree and argue with each other all day long for weeks, months, years on end meanwhile big brother helps himself to another cookie from each of our cookie jars. The problem ultimately never gets solved because we’re too distracted with each other instead of unifying against a single objective.
I don’t have any answers. I just know what I’ve witnessed in my life and how it’s affected the people I care about.

The enemy is not a demographic of people. We are suffering from a clash of conflicting ideologies, influenced and controlled by an exclusive club that is the 1%. I have little faith we are capable of setting aside our own differences to put an end to this. I find it ironic that we are the only ones capable of turning everything around and all we do is point fingers, complain and find outlets for escapism. I hate to admit it, but unless we all get our collective shit together it's every man, woman and child for themselves.
