Considering all the shit going on wit COVID I’m pretty sure the medical industry is inundated with fraud.
|
|
when you shut down all money-generating medical procedures the hospitals had to figure a way to survive...the government paved the way
medical research? they want their life's work to succeed and keep the money flowing in for house payments.
|
|
Yes you found out our secret. We biological/medical researchers pretend to care more for our fellow human beings than for making money. We claim to work incredibly long hours for relatively little pay compared to what we could have made in private business or Wall Street, but the truth is we pocket much of the money and fudge the data. I mean, most of the time people don't catch us, so, of course, it's worth it.
Now, please .
|
|
Haven't known anyone directly who fudged data or got caught, but I've seen unethical treatment of animals and sexual harassment by principal investigators.
|
|
I blame NR
It's all his fault
|
|
Wow, holy crap, me & NR actually agree on something?
Fraud exists and people have all kinds of incentives to fudge data and corrupt data?
Funding research, corporate & strategic positioning, government cover ups & mis information!
Hell can I guess freeze over:

Pretty funny you posted that link about East Anglia, Remo
Famous for the bullshit hockey stick graph
Climate change is a perfect example of sordid sleazy money-grub science

Obama bought a waterfront home
Guess I'll worry about rising sea level when he sells.
|
|
^ waterfront home... it doesn't stop there
He also installed a 2500 gallon propane tank at his home.
Talk about gaslighting Americans with the green energy noise...
|
|
shit happens...some of it is probably thought to be meaningless/insignificant to these people with their life's work on the line...they know they're right, but some shit is bogging them down
we probably have some great breakthroughs because of some of those ACTIONS that enabled the next step...also have shit that really is shit.

Say it ain't so,
Safe and Effective.
You go first.
So how did that work out for ya. Oh wait...
|
|
sb KNOW
like in their own mind
|
|
Propane burns cleaner than natural gas... so what's the big deal? It's commonly used for heat in rural or under-served areas, where oil might otherwise be used because there's no infrastructure.
|
|
looks like a little target practice needed

Typical moronic Prog, giving Obama a pass
I call bullshit
Why not solar panels, wind turbine, nucular power plant
Fucking hypocrite is putting out carbon, you village idiot
Sound like a Trumpy

In the end, it all boils down to profit, pure and simple. Having had the opportunity to sit in on a "Risk and Exposure" session at the pacemaker company I worked at, the really pertinent questions were;
What is the likelihood that one of our products will fail? (say .2% or .002)
What is the likelihood that (if it fails) it will kill someone? (say 25% or .25)
What is the likelihood (if it kills someone) we will be sued? (say 75% or .75)
What is the likelihood (if sued) we will lose? (say 80% or .8)
What are the likely damages (if we lose)? (say 2 million)
How many times a year might this happen? (say 2)
The formula for evaluating the R&E is this:
2,000,000 x 2 x .8 x .75 x .25 x .002 = 1,200 ($1,200 per year)
What is the yearly profit for this product? If the profit is higher than say 10x the R&E then the risk is deemed worth it!
There are other considerations as well (mainly: product liability insurance) but this example is just to demonstrate a mindset for corporations. And of course, how many lives were saved does not enter into a R&E analysis, because corporations are not really in the business to save lives; they are in business to make a profit for their shareholders.
Sad that anyone would equate human lives to profit - but that is the cold reality. Medical research in the past 10 years has started to drift more towards money than truth also, primarily because much of that research is being done by shell companies that are mostly owned by the corporations that they are beholden to.
It is really hard to believe what we hear these days, no matter where the information comes from! It is no wonder that so many people do not trust J&J, Moderna, or Pfizer about the COVID vaccines.

Goebbels you do not put a single wind turbine on your property for power. That is not how it works. They feed energy into a grid for storage to be accessed by units wired into the grid.
Jesus fucking Christ on a pogo stick.

I have every reason the be upset that this asshole did what he did.... I didn't attack you I made a post about something that had real effect on my life. You sniveling piece of shit... trying to be all above it and tell me to be quiet ... fuck you!!

Fuck off, HeyI'mAGiantGapingAsshole
Windmills have been used for hundreds of years for powering wells and homesteads
Obviously, anybody other than you could tell I was being facetious given the nucular comment
Btw, Jeebus never never used a pogo stick either unless it was in your colon
If you're gonna post
Make it even slightly worthwhile, ya dumbase drippings of a syphalitic hyena

"And of course, how many lives were saved does not enter into a R&E analysis, because corporations are not really in the business to save lives; they are in business to make a profit for their shareholders."
You gotta be one of the most naive fucks on the planet.
There is NO company if they don't save lives, is there? They will go out of business and any life they might've saved will be lost. Same fucking answer if they don't make a profit, right?
Meanwhile, back in the real world, actuaries are calculating EXACTLY what your worthless life is valued at. Right now, that would be a negative number.
