When Tucker Carlson gets sued for lying on the air, his lawyers say he was obviously exaggerating and that his show is just entertainment, not really news, so "no reasonable person would actually believe what Mr. Carlson said". Sean Hannity used a similar defense in a lawsuit brought against him.
