Please help me square this circle. DOJ says they had to raid because it was a grave matter of national security. Nucs maybe? White house - still as of the Sunday shows - saying they were not told because, and I quote KJP, "it's a law enforcement matter and we don't get involved in a law enforcement matter". So which is it? If it's a grave matter of national security. shouldn't they have advised the White house? The NSA? The DNI? Seems if it was so grave you would at least read in the Agencies that are in charge of our National Security. Why were these other relevant agencies not read in. Any ideas?

^^^ Unfortunately, much like the Russian Collusion investigation, if not enough evidence is found to support a conviction then the investigation just dies (or goes somewhat dormant). And don't expect any apologies to be forthcoming. That they don't pursue prosecution does not mean that they think he is totally exonerated! But this whole argument is way ahead of the facts so far. The only thing that we know for sure at this point is that Trump had some classified information in his possession that he should not have had! That is the only "given" at this point.

What they are trying to convey in that statement is that they are not in the decision making process of the investigation - that is the purview of the DOJ. Even Trump tried to interfere with DOJ investigations and was unsuccessful in it. The DOJ has to be above the political fray. If it is not, and can be "directed" by the president, then you might as well trade all your dollars for Chinese currency right now because we are through as a country!

I am really not sure why people think that the DOJ & FBI are corrupt. No doubt that there are agents from both institutions that are EXTREME LEFT or EXTREME RIGHT leaning. That is the nature of living in a free society - we are all entitled to our own opinions. But if they were only from the LEFT, then why did Comey re-open the investigation into Hillary's emails so close to the election (that may have actually cost her the election)? And weren't a couple of FBI agents that texted back and forth that they need to "get Trump" flushed out? Hardly the actions of institutions that are LEFTIST in their ways.
Simply put, Trump has put himself in the crosshairs of these agencies so it stands to reason that they look very close at everything he does. And when he screws up - he gets hammered. Probably not like you or I would be if we did the same thing, but hammered non-the-less.
I am an Independent - I am neither LEFT or RIGHT. I don't let others formulate my opinions. I have seen, first hand (unfortunately) the machinations of the DOJ and FBI. And even though I have a love/hate relationship with them, I don't think they are corrupt! They just have a job to do and, (again unfortunately for me anyway) they do it very well!
The carte blanc endorsement of everything Trumps says or pontificates is something that I would only expect a parent to do if their child was investigated or charged with a crime. I simply don't understand what Trump followers are doing!
BTW - although I am an Independent, I did vote for Trump because I was HOPING that he would do the things that needed to be done and that professional politicians would not do. But in no way did I intend to give him a blank check and a get out of jail free card. He has violated almost everything that I find decent in a person. Whether it's classified or not is IRRELEVANT. You can't just declare nuclear secrets as "declassified" then cart boxes of it back home. That's not how it works. I am too tired to respond fully as Iâm working off of 2 or 3 hours of sleep, but here are my general thoughts:
The DOJ and FBI are typically considered to be very honorable. Lawyers from top schools are recruited by the DOJ (itâs very prestigious to work there) and they will then go on to very high paying jobs at large firms. They are typically conservative leaning as opposed to lawyers who work for non-profits who are liberal leaning as they are not motivated by money as much. The FBI is law enforcement, which again, is strongly conservative leaning.
To claim that both organizations work at the whim of Democrats is just pure stupidity. The only reason conservatives hate them is because they are about to have their leaders investigated for wrongdoing (FBI) and prosecuted (DOJ).
Wannabe fascists, such as Trump, need to shit on the DOJ, FBI, and mainstream media to hide his crooked actions, which will inevitably be reported. Otherwise, his dumb base would start to turn on him.
Of course we donât know yet if he tried to sell the secrets, but if you look at the facts the an open mind, he likely tried to monetize our countryâs secrets. He was repeated warned not to take the secret documents and then he lied that he gave them all back. I hope it isnât true, but it isnât looking good.
