Nice when someone else is paying for your shit via gubment subsidies.
The government can't give anything to anyone without taking it from someone else - except US citizenship.

Wait. I could have sworn that Brandon said:
there’s nothing he can do about gas prices. (Also pretty sure some people here assured us that was true)
The price of gas is Russia’s fault. “Russia, Russia, Russia”. Last I checked, Putin is still there.
The price of gas is the fault of the the greedy oil companies. Did they suddenly realize the error of their ways?
The price of gas is the fault of the gas station owners. Are they now selling at a loss? How nice of them to sacrifice for our benefit.
(Through his administration), that we have to suffer through this transition to green energy. Did he change mind?
That he’s going to end fossil fuels. Hmm. Seems that lowering gas prices brings into question his commitment.
|
|
I’m also pretty sure that Brandon said something like, “who would have thought that gas would be five dollars a gallon” several months ago. He has no idea what affects the price of gas. Except that it can’t possibly be him when the American people blame him. But when the price goes down, suddenly he’s happy to take credit. And the Dems and the media are happy to give it to him.

Fucking corn in your gas, lol
This country is a bunch of fucking thieves backed by politicians

BTW, this could be your dumbest blog to date, Buttttzzz
Just get up in there and guzzle that Brandon juice while you nuzzle the nutsack
Probably a lot of gray spiny hairs but you must love that shit
While you're there, see if you can snag a few dingleberries too
At his age, I doubt he's getting a good wipe on
Probably hit the mother lode

when will you right wing parrots start thinking and read stuff??
"A common political misconception on both sides of the aisle is that the president of the United States has considerable influence on gas prices. The fact of the matter is that they don’t."
"The issue with these stickers is that President Joe Biden did not “[do] that.” Gas prices are a very fickle part of the economy, and the fact that they are currently increasing is not Biden’s fault. Instead, the war in Ukraine is the reason for the increase. Because of the conflict, Russia and Ukraine are selling their gas for higher prices to help pay for their respective militaries."
"Although gas prices, especially where they sit now, are often assumed to be a force of political influence, they are actually governed by economic drivers and basic laws of supply and demand. So no, President Biden can’t just push a button and let everyone pay $3/gallon again. The current oil price crisis escalated in dramatic layers over the course of the past two years. OPEC+ oil-producing countries decided to halt production of oil during the pandemic in response to a sharp decrease in demand, specifically airline and commercial travel. In April 2020, these member countries were actually sitting on a surplus of oil (greater supply than demand), and with the pandemic developing rapidly in its early stages they decided to cut back production to protect their supply and sustain prices as much as they could."
just more talking head points from the right wing no-nothings. oh, read a book; the no-nothing label is a historical term.

MAGA🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲FJB TRUMP 2024
DESANTIS 2024
WHERE ARE MY maga boys 😍😍🇺🇲🇺🇲

If you want to know why gas prices are high, listen to the quarterly earnings reports of the corporate oil producers. They say unequivocally that they are not going to increase production even though demand has spiked post pandemic and because of supply issues related to the Ukraine war. They state it as a reason why earnings are going to go up for the foreseeable future and are proud of it. Also, look at the state owned oil production suppliers (OPEC nations) and they have said they are also not going to increase production even though worldwide demand has increased.
There is little Biden can do that will not upset everyone.
Nationalize USA oil production? Yeah, that will fly.
Executive order to tax energy company windfall profits and distribute checks to the citizens?
Executive order to stop corporate exports of oil?
Yeah, but we all know both parties are bought and paid for by corporations and big donors so that is never going to happen either although it would be popular.
Biden is not fucking you in the ass at the pump, it is the corporate oil companies and they are protected by the media and politicians.
If you think Biden or the Executive Branch of government is the reason gas prices are high, you are just a gullible to right wing propaganda. Credulous. A useful idiot.

"Although gas prices, especially where they sit now, are often assumed to be a force of political influence, they are actually governed by economic drivers and basic laws of supply and demand.
Don't oil futures affect price? Doesn't shutting down the the Keytsone pipeline and preventing offshore drilling affect supply, oil futures and price? Doesn't ramping up regulations affect production, supply, and price? Doesn't making it extremely expensive and difficult to build new oil refineries affect futures, supply and price? Doesn't Doesn't making it extremely expensive and difficult to maintain existing oil refineries affect futures, supply and price?
See, now those would be the economic drivers part that you mentioned. The presidential part that you DIDN"T mention would be the administration's pledge to shut down the fossil fuel industry. It would be an open admission from the administration and the media that higher gas prices are GOOD because they would drive Americans away from gasoline powered cars and toward electric vehicles (never mind that a large part of electric power is generated by fossil fuel, and renewal energy is a very long way from being a complete replacement). It would also be the POLICIES THAT THIS ADMINISTRATION HAS PUT IN PLACE which are responsible for the economic drivers mentioned in the second paragraph.
Love how you Dems talk about of both sides of your mouth. The president has declared a war on the oil industry, but he's not responsible for high gas prices. It's pure coincidence that prices jumped after he took office.
|
|
@RicoSuave21 You're right that driving gas prices up is good for the US long term. However, you're completely off about the futures. The Keystone Pipeline permit was revoked around January 2021, when the average CA retail gas price was around $3.26. This was around the same price in the first half of Trump's presidency.
So you're telling me that MORE THAN ONE YEAR LATER, the price is still growing due an event that happened last year? Notice how radical fascists could never stick to the right time line.
|
|
If you look at the charts, gas prices grew as Biden took office, but jumped at the start of the Russia invasion of Ukraine at February 2024. There's no point in even making up wild conspiracies, the proof is in the pudding. Before the invasion, average gas prices were 4.66.

The Keystone XL would have increased production by 510,000 barrels a day. The current crude production in the US is 12 million barrels per day. Consumption is 19 million, and worldwide consumption is 97 million. Donald Duck at the anti-American corporatist Republican party sold you all a lie that increasing production by less than 5% would have drastically decreased gas prices at the cost of the environment and clean water. Do the math. Oh wait... you can't.
|
|
Oh wait.... summer is over, people are back in school, no more traveling so gas prices are starting to come down as they always do at the end of the summer so people can feel like they can afford to go out and buy a bunch of shit for the holidays coming up. It's a vicious cycle but happens every year.

Butttzzz
Appreciate the back track, you're OK except when you're not
As to M4B and PSQ, both failed remedial economics.......horribly
These are the kind of idiots that would have Sacramento "investigating" oil companies for the 29th time
Mainly, so they can get "headlines" that they're doing something, anything, even the wrong thing
US Oil & Gas industry LOST $300 billion fracking their way to putting the US in the lead of production
They learned their lesson and will NOT be investing money in the ground WHILE there's an idiot in the WH that would like to put them out of business.
So, yes........the pronouncements of Biden DO have an effect on decisions made in the boardroom. How do I know this?
Cause I know people in the C-Suite that will specifically tell you this.
They fucked up and won't repeat the mistake.
Need an example?
OXY, $36 billion debt buying Anadarko
If not for Buffet, they would probably be BK
In 2019, he put $10 billion in and in typical Buffet style got a preferred stock (that you or I couldn't get) that paid him $800 million/year dividends. He has continued to pour money into OXY which has paid their debt down to $25B and OXY stock just broke to new highs on Friday.
Those of you pretending to understand anything about economics and post your stupidity should just have your pee pees thwacked.
As Monsieur Charcuterie would say "Don't be a cunt"
|
|
Oh, did the effect of cancelling Keystone end suddenly? And was that the only act against the national oil supply which Biden carried out?
Let's settle this once and for all: is it reasonable to conclude that this administration's stated policy of killing the fossil fuel industry has an effect on oil supply and thus gasoline prices? It's a yes or no question.
|
|
If I tell you that I am shutting your industry down, I just doubt anyone is going to make any long term investments and capital expenditures, at least in the short run. The CEOs of these companies have to answer to their shareholders and those shareholders won't be happy if the company invests in projects that would be shut down or denied by regulators.
|
|
Rak baby, you're so full of shit
Not going to waste my time rebutting all your dumbness
And, fuck CA gas prices.......so fucking manipulated by Sacramento's taxes and regulatory requirements for seasonal changes in type.
A simple look at oil prices @CL shows that the bottom was in on May 2020
Joe Biden entered office on January 21, 2021 when @CL was around $37/bbl and rose steadily to $85/bbl the week prior to the invasion of Ukraine.
Price today is $90/bbl
Let's see, price of oil more than doubles from Biden's inauguration (remember that one of his election planks was that he would put the industry out of business if elected AND he cancelled Keystone his first day in office) to the week prior to the invasion from $37 to $85 (130% increase)..........then after the invasion to now, goes up another $5 (6%)...........
You are an idiot to post something that is so easily refuted.
If not a pure liar, you are nothing but a partisan ideologue with an agenda and poor math skills.
Please remove your brain from your skull and beat it to a pulp
Thanks in advance!

[When] it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over,” Biden said during a press conference in Japan following his meeting with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
But, there's no correlation between Biden's stated objectives, his enacted, often tyrannical policies, and the price of gas (and everything else that depends on fuel prices). No, we're just imagining it .
What a load of disingenuous BS.

Keystone XL - not about production but about getting oil to market... you do realize that that oil has to get to facilities right? That would have been another avenue to move more oil to market not get it out of the ground. Did you think you posted some kind of insight? No you just want to say nananabooboo and had nothing to say at all except bring attention to the fact that you aren't very bright.

Wonder what happens as soon as we stop taking oil out of the strategic reserve .... hmmm.
