I have stayed at the Andaz (a Hyatt affiliate) in West Hollywood. Nice hotel but not friendly as the elevators require room cards to operate. The desk is out of the way and off to the left so from that standpoint it is nice. Rooms were so-so. It is right next door to a comedy club. West Hollywood is NOT HOLLYWOOD. A different class of people. Still better than a lot of other places but don't ever confuse the two. Having said that, if you are gold digging (like I was), it is still close enough to HW to attract some higher class people. And when I say higher class, I'm strictly talking about money, not personality. Some of (but not all) of the Hollywood types can be real douche bags! For me, I call it a crap shoot! But still worth the expenses involved to explore for a couple of days.

Nice once you are there. Rodeo Drive is way cool.
But prolly the worst place to get to, as it's way off the freeway.
The traffic getting there via the 405 or 10 or the 101 is insane!
