No, selfish people never look at the big picture. Give me my $10,000 and fuck the rest of you.

Larry Summers Opposes Full Student-Loan Forgiveness
About 45 million people owe approximately $1.7 trillion in student loan debt, or an average of about $38,000 per borrower.
So 40 million people will get a loan forgiveness paid by the rest of us. Bend over and grab your ankles the rest of the 330 million in the country.
Yes, all you who worked their way through school, never took out a loan and got their education slowly as they could afford it. Fuck You. Pay up.
All of you who took out loans, got a job and paid off those student loans...Fuck YOU. Pay up.
All of you whose parents saved for decades to prepare a college fund and help pay for your education...you and your parents were stupid. Fuck YOU. Pay up.
All those of you who didn't go to college because you couldn't afford it, went out and got a job and have a decent living. Fuck you, Pay up.
All of you who didn't want to go to college, had a great idea for a business, worked hard and eventually succeeded. Fuck YOU, Pay up.
All of you who didn't want to go to college and went to work right out of school, have worked hard to earn a living. Fuck you. Pay up.
What's next. How about people who took out car loans, home mortgage. Hey, I bet there are some people who bought a boat and now can't afford it. Let's forgive their loan.
When are people going to take PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for their own actions. Another move by the Dems to screw the country.

think wife has old loan she converted to 30years at ~2.5 percent back in 2001?
at the time payments were graduating every few years to bigger amts...over a 1000/mo
she gets a call and accepts the new terms...started a little higher interest rate than the 2.5range, but lowered over 3 years
at that rate and payment...who gives a shit?
not sure she would qualify on this biden thing
worked out...she spent a ton on something she doesn't use

I have a lot of frustration for people who sign loan papers and then bail on their loan.
Part of the problem is that too many people who go to college pick really stupid majors that have no bearing on a good paying job. They rack up tens of thousands of loan debt and then take a job making $25-40,000 a year. Would have been better just getting a minimum wage job right out of school and working your way up in business.
Word of advice....research what people make who have your degree BEFORE you take out the loan. Or maybe find a cheaper college..
^ Yeah, that's a shame. I know a girl that got a degree in neuroscience a nd never did anything with the degree. She works for a car dealership now.
Also, if you are not absolutely sure you want to go to college....take a year or two off after school and work. Then decide if college makes sense.

I think most Democrats and any Republican knows this is a immoral policy.
This administration is just buying votes for November.
Democrat Midterm strategy...
Stretch out the Jan 6th hoax as long as possible with bullshit testimony from hearsay witnesses. ✅
Conduct a raid at Trumps house and have the DOJ keep as much of the bullshit affidavit redacted until after midterms. ✅
Give 10k loan forgiveness to losers who get bullshit Liberal arts degrees and cant function in the real world. ✅
Try to reduce the price of gas by 50 cents just before midterms even though gas has gone up several dollars since Jan 20, 2021. ✅
Start acting like you want to complete a few short insignificant sections of Southern border wall before midterms. ✅
Convince the idiot sheep who can't seem to do their own research and think for themselves that the Dems really are doing a great job.....CHECK!!!!!!!
"This administration is just buying votes for November. "
Biden is actually following through on a 2020 campaign promise.
you can see it's BUY votes
look at the dates these things get ramped up...seems to be around election time. textbook
I am kinda liking the investment opportunities now
if I could be assured they don't add 2 more states? put 10trillion in GND? fuck up the courts?
maybe give bidon 4more years...without a congress and senate
Biden is actually following through on a 2020 campaign promise.
It was a shitty idea when he first opened his mouth.
Still a shitty idea for the country.
yeah, so horrible that student can finally get out of the debt muck. its ok to have someone pay for the next 20 years for an education, that really should be free. yes, it said it. next to socialism, the bad word is "free".
No one put a gun to their heads and forced them to sign the loan papers. If they were not 'adults' at the time, their parents had to sign.
The government continues to tout the low unemployment numbers. A few months ago, they told us we had job openings at a near record high. So EVERYONE in this country should be able to get a job and be able to pay off those loans.
But now they are feeling the students need loan forgiveness, and the reason is.....Covid?. Stupidity? Buying your vote?
The bullshit is so high and deep, it is really hard to understand what the truth actually is...
they did start to get the parents on the HOOK more...not just the student
please, spare me the concept of victim blaming. the truth is we live in a for-profit country and kill consumers. part of the problem is deregulation.
Sorry, but this issue is pretty clear cut.
We are now telling a group of people....you don't have to be responsible for your actions. We as the government will bail your ass out because you are incapable of doing so. And the rest of you, suck it up and pay!!!!!
There are probably a bunch of extenuating circumstances regarding the need to defer the payments. But that should be between the lender and the borrower and NOT be blanket across the board immunity and forgiveness.
wife is probably down to those amts after all those years...i WOULD let her take the discount on the loan
figure i will be paying it back in another way
pretty sure WE ain't in the mix though
"We are now telling a group of people....you don't have to be responsible for your actions. We as the government will bail your ass out because you are incapable of doing so. And the rest of you, suck it up and pay!!!!!"
how is this any different than a corp bailout? tax breaks for the wealthy??
how is this any different than a corp bailout? tax breaks for the wealthy??
No difference. I objected to the Government bailing out General Motors, Chrysler, etc. back when.
Don't even get me starting on the Tax Code. There are so many nuances to the tax code, we need to scrap it totally and go to a flat tax. Everyone has skin in the game.

The federal government pushing students into high interest loans program in order to avoid investments in public education. Told them a college degree was necessary for success. The colleges loved it as they raised tuition to ridiculous levels in many places. Somewhat of a scam. $10k is nothing compared to some of the debt wracked up
thedon.
Reread my comment. NO ONE put a gun to their heads. If someone is so stupid they actually believe our fucking government these days, they deserve to owe their life savings. If a person has the 'intellect' to go to college, they should be smart enough to do a quick internet search to find out what jobs are available for people in their major. Takes about 10 minutes and they will find that what they plan to study has NO transferable job skills. And anyone who would listen to the college they might attend, I have some beach front property in Iowa I would like to sell you. Far too few people have critical thinking skills.
Who said you had to have a college education...oh that's right the pompous academics on the left who teach because they can't really accomplish anything in the real world.
Keep blaming everyone...that is the problem with our current world. No one wants to take personal responsibility for their actions.
"This administration is just buying votes for November. "
Biden is actually following through on a 2020 campaign promise.
It was a ploy to buy votes then and it is still a ploy to buy votes.
Pisses me off. We saved for years to have $$$ to put our kids thru college. Now we get to pay for other kids as well.
And didn't Pelosi say that Biden has the authority to delay payments but that he did NOT have the authority to cancel and of the debt as only congress has that authority?
I want a free $10k too, where’s my Socialism ?
that tiny Lil argument there about biden JUST following thru on campaign promises...that's typically what they do...LEAVE out the part about it being a "voting tool" back then
sure the right does it too...maybe show me the SAME exact fact pattern
what do we call those people again?
I don't care if it is a campaign promise or not. It is just a damn stupid idea.
Not sure it is even constitutional for an executive order costing $300 billion to have no approval in the House or Senate, since these are NEW expenditures and not really tied to any other executive branch department line item.

it is clear that the current climate of hate towards socialism is fueled by the extreme right wing. pretty sad how some people don't even understand the benefits of the system. even sadder how they listen to the people who say socialism is bad.....put it together people. most of us are old enough to know that social programs were around, like public schools, before they were privatized. one of the warnings that communism gave us was that capitalism would force us to pay for things that used to be free....like TV....
madboobs....,keep drinking the Kool-Aid.
We have determined some costs will be borne by all. We have determined to fund public education, but that was voted upon and overseen by citizens (although that has been substantially eroded). We allowed our elected representatives to establish Social Security as a mechanism to help people deal with the costs of retirement.
This, however, is a give away program that has NOT been voted upon by the people or the Congress and is only for a select few.
Show me ONE country where socialism has actually succeeded that has more than 100 million people and that has a nearly open border with very few immigration requirements.
Not here to debate if policy is good or bad. Politically its seems bad when poor blue collar fathers/mothers who are racking credit card debt buying groceries to feed their families are seeing people who are making 6 figures see their debt get wiped.
But i laugh at the notion that this is going to make inflation worse. what a bunch of BS.
The federal government is not spending money here. Simply not collecting money that is owed. BTW all payments have been stopped before more than 2 years. This is basically already in effect.
I can show you the countries where socialism was attempted and thwarted by the US.......Cuba, Chile and Afghanistan are a start. the argument of how these programs never succeed, is mute considering the US attacks and disruption. somehow those factors never get mentioned, why? cause it fits the one-sided narrative.
My tax dollars went to fund dumb ass military campaigns and bailed out a banking system that should have failed.
I will take my 10k that I can now use to invest and build some wealth - fuck the rest.
And fuck you too if you’re gonna throw a fit about that.
Just abiding by our country’s unofficial motto- “Fuck you, pay me”
I guess when the intervention was due to addressing terrorism, that is interference, Castro was a total saint and wanting to help his people and a military coup taking over for a democratically elected president in Chile forced their 'socialism' to fail....really?
Great...our Motto is now Fuck YOU, Pay Me.
As Margaret Thatcher so wisely stated:
"The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money"
Those of you who get the $10,000 now might have to bend over and get fucked by the government to pay more and more when the next round of vote buying is directed toward another 'interest' group....
Yep. I’ll be taking that money from ya Jazz. Better luck next time.
Muchas gracias.
^ spoken like a true liberal who doesn't care about the long term financial success of this country and its people. This is the type of thinking that will cause you all to need to learn to speak Chinese soon....
and you won't have any personal wealth.
Socialism is for lazy bastards that are unwilling to get an education (formal or school of hard knocks), work hard, give the extra effort and become successful.
They want someone else to take care of their sorry asses.
who is drinking the kool-aid now jazz? here is a great book on us interference:
"From the author of the phenomenal New York Times bestseller, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, comes an exposé of international corruption, and an inspired plan to turn the tide for future generations"
"With a presidential election around the corner, questions of America's military buildup, environmental impact, and foreign policy are on everyone's mind. Former Economic Hit Man John Perkins goes behind the scenes of the current geopolitical crisis and offers bold solutions to our most pressing problems. Drawing on interviews with other EHMs, jackals, CIA operatives, reporters, businessmen, and activists, Perkins reveals the secret history of events that have created the current American Empire, including:
How the defeats in Vietnam and Iraq have benefited big business
The role of Israel as Fortress America in the Middle East
Tragic repercussions of the IMF's Asian Economic Collapse
The current Latin American revolution and its lessons for democracy
U.S. blunders in Tibet, Congo, Lebanon, and Venezuela
From the U.S. military in Iraq to infrastructure development in Indonesia, from Peace Corps volunteers in Africa to jackals in Venezuela, Perkins exposes a conspiracy of corruption that has fueled instability and anti-Americanism around the globe, with consequences reflected in our daily headlines. Having raised the alarm, Perkins passionately addresses how Americans can work to create a more peaceful and stable world for future generations."

socialism, if ran properly, is for the people. plain and simple.

socialism, if ran properly, is for the people. plain and simple.
boobs, you totally made my argument. Thank you.
If ran (SIC) properly.
It has NEVER been run properly and probably never will. There are NO incentives for people to work hard, innovate, take risks knowing they may flourish. If you are so hot about socialism, why are you still here????????????????????
What nations in the world generate the most innovation?
Top 10 Most Innovative Countries in the World - Bloomberg 2021
South Korea
Singapore
Switzerland
Germany
Sweden
Denmark
Israel
Finland
Netherlands
Austria
But before you flag any of the Scandinavian countries as socialist, they are all mostly as capitalistic as the U.S. They also have among the most strict immigration policies in the world. So they are NOT paying for non-citizens.
"If you are so hot about socialism, why are you still here????????????????????"
now we slip into the forever evil nationalism. knew this would is where it would lead, the cycle never ends. so am i supposed to leave cause i do not believe in capitalism?
^ I am not one say that if you favor socialism that you should leave this country, but I will ask; have you ever lived in a socialist country for more than 6 months so you can see what it is really like? If not, it would be a good idea to do so and be able to separate fact from fiction - first hand.
You do know nearly all who favor socialism probably have never spent a single day let alone 6 months in country
Well do you believe in capitalism?
This country is not perfect but far better than all of the alternatives.

"Biden is actually following through on a 2020 campaign promise."
LOL. Oh, So even though it's a short-sighted policy and obvious pandering that will contribute to inflation, and encourage young people to incur more debt and even default on loans, since the leader of your party fulfilling a promise, it's actually a good thing.
Biden was buying votes back then, too. This way he gets to do it twice using the same rhetoric.
Yes, Rico. We are generating a potential monster. Every time people get in over their heads, they will want to vote for whatever idiot promises them the sun, the moon and the stars and forgiveness of their debt. Auto loans, home mortgages, credit card debt. Where do we stop????
Promise them ice cream every Friday and they will vote for you.
Buy that vote. But once you are 'bought' and require the government for your existence, you are done.
